The cast and characters for 1923 season two have yet to be formally confirmed, but with so many plots unresolved, some speculations can be made. Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren are expected to return as Jacob and Cara Dutton. Brandon Sklenar and Julia Schlaepfer are certain to reprise their roles as well since Spencer and Alex still need to travel home and reconcile with the rest of the Duttons.

Jennifer Carpenter, who previously appeared on Dexter, has joined the cast of Paramount+ as Mamie Fossett. Similarly, New Amsterdam actress Janet Montgomery will now portray Hilary, a woman determined to uncover and expose injustice. Speaking in an exclusive interview with People magazine, star Brandon Sklenar revealed his excitement after working with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. When asked if the veteran actors helped him with any insights, Sklenar stated:

"I wouldn't say that it's necessarily advice that they gave me but more of an observation, and for me, I think one of the large contributing factors to their staying power and their ability to maintain such incredible careers over such a long time is largely due in part to who they are as human beings."
