The Challenge 40: Tori Deal shares her views on the show being "set-up" and more

The Challenge 40 star Tori recently appeared on Johnny Bananas podcast Episode 17 and shared how there have been various controversies associated with some of the recent tasks from the show.

She mentioned how there have been various controversies, including Horacio Gutierrez's controversial elimination against Derrick Konsinki. She also mentioned the most recent controversy involving Jenny West and Cara Maria Sorbello.

It was during The Challenge 40 Episode 17, aired on December 18, 2024. Many fans have slammed the show for Jenny's wrongful win.

"And it's like we've all been there before we have been kind of we feel like we've been you know either Rightfully or wrongfully given a win or a loss and it's like dude sometimes, especially if you've been in the show what's done is done and now creating controversy at this point and now calling things into question. All it's, just again, it happened to Derrick with Rosio (Horacio) and now it's happening to Jenny it's like all you're doing is discrediting a person that f***ing put it all out there."

Further on the podcast, Tori mentioned how she had "mixed feelings" about such a situation involving the incidents between the contestants on the show. She talked about how if there's "universe's discretion," there won't be any issue.

Tori added that any "discrepancies" on the show during any particular task must be due to "human error" and nothing because of anything being "rigged."

"One thing that always bothers me is that people think like these games are set up to make certain people win, I don't ever feel that. I always feel like if there is some type of discrepancy, it's just kind of natural that it happens because of human error. I don't think that anybody, anything, is set up for anyone to win."

The Challenge 40 star Tori mentioned how Cara had apologized to her and how she reacted to it:

"Cara was basically like, "I just want to apologize for the years of hatred I've spewed your way. It was because I wasn't on the show and you were," and it was the most vulnerable thing and spot on thing that I had ever heard her say and it was too real to be fake and it was in that moment."

She mentioned how, after getting an apology from Cara, Tori also apologized to Cara and told her how things "kind of spiraled out" of control.

"And obviously in the back of my mind I was like, "Is this gonna escalate negatively or is this, is this going to play out and just because of how the game played out."

Tori further added how her and Cara's friendship began on The Challenge 40 even though they had been on opposite sides initially when they joined the show. Johnny shared his side of how various alliances have been formed on the show.
