The Boys, an American fictional superhero television series by Eric Kripke, features on Amazon Prime Video. The show is based on an eponymous comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The show revolves around the constant war between vigilantes and superpowered individuals who work for Vought and misuse their superpowers for personal gain.
Stormfront, played by Aya Cash, is introduced to The Boys as the latest member of The Seven in Season 2. Stormfront’s character initially proves to be a baddie and most worthy rival for Homelander. She is the most powerful superhuman in the world. Given her strength and durability, she can fly with great speed. She has compound V-enhanced DNA, which allows her to age very slowly.
The show portrays Stormfront as a female, but in the comics, the character is depicted to be a man. Regardless of this fact, the superhero possesses all the powers and skills of the OG hero. Like Thor, Stormfront can also manipulate weather and produce electricity.
Who was the first superhuman in The Boys?
Stormfront reveals herself to be the first superhuman in The Boys. Homelander falls in love with Aya’s character and demands to know her secrets, unaware of the depths he is about to dive into. Stormfront birth took place in Berlin in 1919, making her 101 years old by the time season 2 aired. She is not only the former wife of Frederick Vought but also his first successful Compound V subject.
Vought was a Nazi scientist who diverted towards the Americans when the power of World War II started to shift. Leaving the part where Stromfort and Vought are romantically involved, the rest of the events depicted in the show remain original to the comic, from being a successful test compound for the Nazis under Hitler to being an asset in the United States superhero list.
How is Vought behind Stormfront’s arrival in The Boys?
Vought's experiment on Stormfront allows her to have supernatural abilities, enabling her to keep looking youthful, heal, rejuvenate, and prolong her life. She has supposedly been in the background for more than a hundred years. The former married pair continue their plan of white supremacy using Compound V to provide powers to their army.
She appears in the series later in disguise of Liberty to keep her connection with the Nazis and Frederick hidden. But even though the superhero has limitless powers, she is unable to pass them on to her daughter, eventually resulting in her daughter aging naturally and dying because of old age.
Stormfront’s racist agenda also seems to be a part of Vought’s plans, especially as their experiment on the serum is in the advancement phase. It was previously revealed that Compound V showed higher positive results in children than in adults. This put the scientists to work as they tried to reverse the process and focus on building an army of adults with superpowers.
The Boys just finished with Season 4. Season 5, which is lined up, has no release date as of now, but the creators of the show have confirmed it will be the series’s last. The franchise will also be getting a prequel series called The Vought Rising, which will bring back the characters of Soldier Boy and Stormfront.
Vought Rising is a gory prequel about the modest beginnings of the monstrous conglomerate, Vought, set in the 1950s. If you are a fan of superhero movies, then The Boys is one that you should not miss. Stream all the seasons of the series on Prime Video.
