Simon Kunz is a British actor who was born in 1962. He is the grandson of Charlie Kunz, whose Piano Medley 114 was a Top Twenty hit 8 years previous to Simon’s birth. Simon attended Latymer School followed by finishing a degree in Theatre Studies at the University of Warwick.

Kohl is shown to be a father-like figure to Kat since her father Clint Donovan (Lenny Henry) was a friend of his. Post her father’s brutal murder, Kohl turned into a mentor and guide for Kat.

In the second episode of Missing You, Kohl is shown to make an attempt to calm down Kat as she gets further sucked into the reinvestigation of her father’s murderer. He also tells her that the case they had prepared against Monte Leburne (Marc Warren) was foolproof.

The second episode also witnesses Kohl’s retirement which brings an end to his long career as a law enforcer.
