The hit sci-fi thriller series Severance is back with its season 2 on Apple TV+. The critically acclaimed show garnered high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB. Created by Dan Erickson, Severance follows the story of a biotech company called Lumon Industries. It severed its employees’ consciousness into two parts—professional and personal, naming them innies and outies.

The first season of Severance followed Mark, played by Adam Scott, who chose to be severed to keep his grieving personal self out of his professional self. However, problems start to arise when both of these selves begin to interfere with each other, and Lumon’s questionable procedures are questioned.

As the first episode of Season 2 dropped, fans have been anticipating getting the answers that arose in Season 1. But they only got more questions as of yet. With new characters joining the old ones from Season 1 of Severance, we got to meet an interesting character, Miss Huang, played by Sarah Bock. Hiring a child for a managerial position is a dubious move from Lumon, as it adds another layer of mystery to the already mysterious workings of the company.

More about Miss Huang in our story.

As seen in the season 1 ending of Severance, Harmony Cobel, played by Patricia Arquette, is fired by Lumon. Mr. Milchik, played by Tramell Tillman, then assumes Cobel’s former position of severed floor manager, leaving his position vacant. Miss Huang (Sarah Bock's character) is hired to take up Milchik’s old position of Deputy Manager of the severed floor.

While talking to Teen Vogue, Bock revealed how she studied both Arquette’s Cobel and Tilman’s Milchik to learn their "mannerisms.”

She further added:

"I studied Cobel because I imagine they come up in a similar environment, being trained to enter this corporate role.”

Just like Tillman's Milchik in Season 1, Miss Huang will be responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the severed employees. However, unlike Mr. Milchik, Miss Huang is a child, and the employees of the severed floor are taken aback by the fact. Like all the other mysterious things happening at Lumon, Miss Huang’s hiring adds another mystery that hopefully the viewers might uncover in Season 2 of Severance itself.

As revealed in the first episode, we meet Miss Huang on the first day of her job, and as Mr. Milchik is her manager, she has to listen and agree to whatever he asks her to do. Hence, there will be more things to explore as the show proceeds.
