Joseph Quinn might best be known for playing Eddie Munson in Netflix's Stranger Things, but very few might know that the 31-year-old star has also appeared in one episode of HBO's Game of Thrones.

Quinn is an English actor who began his career in 2011. While he worked on many projects, including GOT, it was after Stranger Things that he became a familiar face and started appearing in many big roles.

Quinn appeared in Game of Thrones Season 4 Episode 7, titled Spoils of War, where he played the role of a soldier, Koner, appointed at the gates of Winterfell.

More on Joseph Quinn's role in Game of Thrones and career in our story.

Joseph Quinn made a small appearance in Game of Thrones

Quinn appeared in Game of Thrones Season 4 Episode 7 as Koner, a soldier appointed at the gates of Winterfell and a loyal servant to the House of Stark.

While he appeared briefly in only one sequence, it was important when Arya Stark returned to her home after she was presumed dead. She tries to enter her home when Koner and his partner Henk stop her and mistake her for a commoner from the winter town.

Since Arya Stark was assumed dead, Koner and Henk do not believe that she is Arya, ruler Sansa Stark's sister. In a key scene, Koner tells Arya Stark:

"Look, it's cold and we're busy. So, you know, best f*ck off."

When Arya Stark does not budge, they decide to split, and one of them returns to Sansa Stark to tell her about some imposter from the nearby town. But when they returned, Arya Stark had vanished.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Quinn shared a coincidental anecdote about his upcoming movie The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Director Matt Shakman also directed his GOT episode on the Belfast set, and he believes it to be a 'full-circle moment' and remembered:

“Lots of people that were coming up, if you get a Game of Thrones part, it was very exciting.”

What other roles has Joseph Quinn done in his career so far?

While Quinn appeared in Postcode and BBC's Dickensian, he finally landed a big project with Game of Thrones, which would boost anybody's resume.

However, his breakthrough role was as Eddie Munson in Netflix's Stranger Things, where he played a main character in Season 4. Eddie became a fan-favorite character, often providing comic relief until he died in the Upside Down while investigating Chrissy's death.

Sharing his experience on Stranger Things with Collider, Quinn noted:

"I was a bit gutted that I wouldn’t be there down the line. I learned a lot. It was the first time I was away that long on a job. The company I was keeping was incredibly talented and immensely welcoming. I was encouraged and inspired by their kindness."

The Game of Thrones star became popular after his breakthrough role in Stranger Things and bagged him many big roles. One of them is the 2024 horror apocalyptic movie A Quiet Place: Day One, where he played the role of Eric, and the movie was a commercial success.

He is also about to debut in The Fantastic Four as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, which might be reprised in Avengers later.

He is also set to appear in Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza's war film Warfare, which will be released in 2025.
