Mythic Quest is a workplace comedy show on Apple TV+ much like other predecessors in this genre such as The Office. Mythic Quest debuted on Apple TV+ for the first time back in 2020 and has since then developed a steady following.

Mythic Quest: Rachel and Dana's relationship explored

Dana, a young African-American lady, works as a game tester on Mythic Quest. She is a pleasant and amiable young woman who enjoys and excels at her job. She plays the video game all day to test for bugs, and then at night for enjoyment.

Rachel, on the other hand, is a tough and punky video game tester who is motivated by values yet feels that she's unable to reach her true potential at the Mythic Quest Studios. She is half-Asian; her mother hails from Thailand. However, she is unable to speak or comprehend Thai.

Rachel passes time playing the game and documenting bugs, but she believes she and Dana have a greater contribution to make and that their ideas should be included when developing the game. Rachel is drawn to Dana and informs her that she has some fantastic ideas that merit attention.

Rachel and Dana were assigned to log all of the flaws in Brad Bakshi's new game which he had created by a Bucharest firm, requiring them to labor all night. Rachel volunteered to fill in for Dana when she had plans, but Dana decided to postpone them.

The couple worked all night reporting bugs before having some fun around the office, notably devouring the remainder of Poppy's ice cream sandwiches.

Imani Hakim opens up about her character

Imani Hakim spoke at length about her character and the chemistry shared between Rachel and Dana on the Apple TV+ in an interview with The Geekiary back in July 2021. When asked about Dana's journey over the seasons, Hakim remarked:

"Season 1 Dana, we definitely had to flesh her out a bit. She was very different on page compared to how she was written in season 2. I think Rob and Megan have said publicly that Dana was a bit one-dimensional in the first season. We definitely fleshed her out for season 2, and I did advocate for her."

Speaking about Dana's relationship with Rachel, Hakim observed:

"The love story was always in the script! It did change and evolve multiple times. Season 1 actually looked completely different for Rachel and Dana. Originally, at one point, I even had a boyfriend that caused a rift between Dana and Rachel. There was a father and it was just like, there was a lot of stuff happening!"
