However, nothing has been confirmed yet; HBO executives and The White Lotus team are still scouting locations. HBO's programming executive, EVP Francesca Orsi, has also spoken on the matter. She said to Deadline,
“We’re going on some locations scouting in the next couple of weeks, so we’ll know soon,”
She added,
“I can’t really say where we’re going to land but chances are somewhere in Europe.”
Many netizens thought The White Lotus Season 4 would probably be in Europe since it had already filmed in Italy. However, Europe is a big continent with a lot of exceptional options. A different place from the same continent can still bring something new to the show.
Africa is also being considered as a potential location for The White Lotus Season 4. According to the Daily Mail, an HBO source said,
''Season four has already been commissioned and Africa is the favorite. It has everything White Lotus fans expect. Heat, exotic locations and dramatic backdrops.... Marrakech offers heat and intrigue. Nothing has been decided, but Africa is the way Mike is leaning.''
One of the key factors in deciding where The White Lotus Season 4 will be filmed is if the location has a Four Seasons property. The Four Seasons and White Lotus have an official partnership. It means all the properties you see under the 'White Lotus' chain are actually under the Four Seasons. It is unlikely that HBO and Mike White would end the partnership now. Keeping that in mind, Greece's Four Seasons Astir Palace Athens is a beautiful option for the next season. It is located close to the Acropolis, has private beaches, and offers a luxurious experience.
Another factor to keep in mind is tax subsidies. Production companies are often given subsidies from foreign governments when they shoot in their country. The White Lotus Season 4 will understandably choose a location that offers great tax credits along with a great view and stay.
