Netflix Preview Club might just be Netflix's best-kept secret yet, although the inception of the exclusive club had been publicly announced back towards the end of 2022. Netflix Preview Club is an exclusive club for certain subscribers who are privileged to watch the previews of up-and-coming films and television shows and submit the corresponding surveys.

However, not just anyone can sign up to become a member of the Netflix Preview Club. Admission to the exclusive club is highly selective, and everyone deemed fit has to sign an array of Non-Disclosure agreements.

The concept of previewing films and television shows isn't entirely new. Ever since the dawn of the Golden Age of Hollywood, films and other mass media have been subjected to preview screenings and trials by limited audiences. This is often done to gauge the initial audience response about what works for the film or the television show and what doesn't.

While such previews might not end up altering the film or TV show drastically, it has often happened that the filmmakers have taken the preview feedback into serious account and modified their work accordingly.

Here's everything that we know about the Netflix Preview Club.

Netflix Preview Club details explored

Netflix has put up all the information needed to get a fair idea of the Preview Club. According to the streaming platform giant:

"Netflix Preview Club is an invite-only opportunity where members watch early versions of TV shows and movies before they’re released to tell us what they think. Our creators may use that feedback when editing the final version to make it more enjoyable for everyone."

Anyone and everyone can't sign up to be a member of the exclusive club as Netflix takes in members by invitation only:

"Netflix Preview Club is an invite-only opportunity offered to Netflix members at no additional cost. Members are pre-selected to join based on things like their viewing behavior and how long they’ve been a Netflix member. We don’t accept requests to join. Invitations may be sent via email or as a notification in the Netflix app."

As regards the working of the preview club, Netflix stipulates:

"After you’re invited, the first step in joining the Preview Club is to answer a few questions to make sure you qualify. If you do, we’ll send an email confirmation with a link to verify that it’s you. Follow the email confirmation link to successfully join."

Netflix sends out screening invites to its preview club members, who are also given a secret security PIN to access the screening on the Netflix app or website. After the screening, the preview club members must answer a questionnaire consisting of ten to twenty entries detailing what worked for them and what didn't.

What does it cost to be a member of the Netflix Preview Club?

Membership of the Preview Club is free of cost. Conversely, Netflix doesn't pay the members of its preview club any particular fee in exchange for answering the surveys. It just serves as a feather in the cap of a dedicated Netflix addict.

It is widely believed that the preview club often plays a determining role in developing the final cut of a film. For instance, the Wall Street Journal reported in December 2022 that the film Don't Look Up had an alternate climax following preview feedback.
