Jude Law's Jod Na-nowood has been shrouded in mystery since Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Season 1 inception. He appeared to be a companion to the children in their adventure, but soon, he revealed his villainous ambitions and his desire to steal At Attin's fortunes.

He had an understanding of the Jedi Order, however messy, which hinted that he might be a fallen Jedi, which would explain some of the angst he carries.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Season 1's penultimate episode, he took control of the planet and forced the children and their parents to cpmly with his every demand.

The show's finale finally revealed Jod's origin story, to understand why is he a power-hungry fallen Jedi in the show.

More on Jod Na-nawood's origin story as revealed in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Season 1 finale in our story.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Season 1 finale reveals Jod's origin story

While Jod became a full-on villain in Skeleton Crew, his concern for the children cannot be missed in some scenes. He wanted to take control of the At Attin planet in the Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Season 1 finale, but he never wanted to harm the children.

The show has established the mysterious past of Jod throughout Season 1, with his messy Jedi training, and the finale sheds light on this almost Jedi character. Jod reveals that he was a lone and hungry kid living in a hole whose aim in childhood was not to starve to death.

One day, he was finally hunted down by a Jedi woman, who recognized that he was special and offered to train him to become a Jedi. They started with basic training, but she was soon hunted down during Order-66 and was eventually killed.

In the Star Wars: Skeleton Crew finale, Jod reveals that he was forced to look when the Jedi woman died, and this traumatic incident made him into a hardened individual with twisted beliefs. He was promised a bright future with the Jedis, but all that was taken away from him, and he was left alone once again to starve and die.

After the Jedis lost the battle, Jod survived and became the morally grey character we saw in the show.

Did Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Season 1 redeemed Jod? Exploring his possibilities after the finale

While Jod's origin story, as revealed in the Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Season 1 finale, is sad, it does not redeem him because he threatens to take control of the children and their planet. As revealed by him in the finale, he not only planned to rob At Attin, but he planned on making its people work for him so that he could enjoy the fruits of their labor forever.

While his story did give him some credit as a villain, it did not redeem him yet, because we never saw him remorse for what he did with the people of At Attin. He sees his frigate going up in flames in the finale after the heroes of the New Republic destroyed it. But the episode ends without showing what is next for Jod after the children thwarted his plans to rule At Attin.

Skeleton Crew is not yet greenlit for a Season 2, but Jod's origin story opens a lot of potential for the character. The most obvious path for Jod to get redemption would be in Season 2, where he might team up with the kids for an adventure where he actually saves the day (rather than ruining it).

Since nothing is confirmed as of yet, fans would have to wait to see if Jod will get a redemption arc in the Star Wars universe.
