Since Isaac wanted to find his birth parents first, the series didn't explore his love life much. However, in Season 4, Isaac finally finds someone he might consider dating.

In Episode 8 Walls and Doors, viewers are introduced to a new character named Michael who knew Isaac from college. While Michael arrived in Serentu to look after the hurricane damage, he caught up with Isaac and the two have notable chemistry.

While talking about the latest season showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson explained why the show waited until now to reveal Isaac’s sexuality (via Deadline). Anderson said:

"He wasn’t interested in dating until he was comfortable with who he was in Serenity. So now that everybody — well, anybody who’s interested, but everybody who matters to him — understands his whole story, he was comfortable, and he was open, and a man from his past walked in the door."

Now that Isaac's true parentage is finally revealed, and he no longer has to keep it a secret, he's comfortable dating a guy. As the season came to an end, Isaac kissed Michael, confirming his interest and making room for more in a hopeful Season 5.
