The South Korean television series What's Wrong with Secretary Kim premiered in 2018. It features Seo-joon and Park Min-young as the main leads. It is based on Jung Kyung-yoon's first-published novel of the same name from 2013, which KakaoPage adapted as a webtoon comic in 2015. The 16-episode series ran on tvN on Wednesdays and Thursdays from June 6 to July 26, 2018.


What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim synopsis


Lee Young-joon (Park Seo-joon) is the vice-chairman of a large company. When Kim Mi-so (Park Min-young), his extremely talented secretary, suddenly announces that she is leaving her job after nine years, it disrupts his world. Young-joon decides to try everything in his power to get Mi-so to reconsider.

The South Korean actor Park Seo-joon portrays Lee Young-joon in the show. Young-joon is Yumyung Group's vice-chairman. Although he is competent and attractive, Mi-so finds it challenging to collaborate with him because of his narcissism. When he realizes he could lose Mi-so, he begins to understand his affection for her. When Mi-so is with someone other than him, like his brother, he could be envious. Moon Woo-jin portrays 9-year-old Lee Sung-hyun.


The South Korean actress Park Min-young portrays Kim Mi-so in the show. Young-joon has been working with Mi-so, a very skilled secretary, for nine years. She quickly comes to feel the same way about Young-joon after learning that he was a part of her childhood. Kim Ji-yoo portrays 5-year-old Kim Mi-so.

  • ABS-CBN announced in November 2023 that the series would be recreated in the Philippines. On March 18, 2024, it made its Viu debut.

The characters' visual styling has heavily included hints from the comic version, such as reliving the comic cover for the drama's promotional stills and images and designing their clothes. On April 10, 2018, the first reading of the script was placed at Studio Dragon in Sangam-dong, Seoul, South Korea.


The vehicles that Lee Young-joon, Lee Sung-yeon, and Yumyong Group drove were supplied by Maserati Korea. In the show, Yoo-sik drives a Maserati Ghibli, Sung-yeon drives a Maserati Levante, Young-joon drives a Maserati GranCabrio, and Young-joon drives a Maserati Quattroporte.
