Much to the delight of the fans, What If…? Season 3, the final season of the series, is on its way, and it will be released before the fans expected.
What If…? Season 3 will debut on December 22, 2024. The series, which follows individuals across the Marvel multiverse and shows how different choices could lead to different outcomes, is ready to give the fans a rollercoaster ride for one last time.

What If…? Season 3 release date
The third and final installment of the Marvel show What If…? will premiere on Disney+ on December 22, 2024.
The release date was announced in a trailer that highlighted several of Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ releases, including other animated shows like Eyes of Wakanda, Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man, and Marvel Zombies.
It is still unclear whether the show will have daily episode releases like season 2 or if all the episodes of season 3 will be dropped together for binge-watching.
What If…? Season 3 plot
Given the show's main premise, which explores how the lives of individuals part of the Marvel multiverse could have been different if they had made different choices, season 3 of What If…? is very likely to follow the same theme.
While most stories of this season have been kept tightly under wraps, some have been teased, and among those is one following Agatha Harkness, which also includes a musical number.
Back in August, Marvel’s head of TV, Brad Winderbaum, said regarding the episode,
"one of my favorite episodes ever done, and it may involve the giant musical number, and she's just incredible, and we all want to see more of her [Agatha]."
In January 2024, Marvel Studios shared several first-look images from two upcoming episodes of the third season of What If…? The pictures show one episode centering on the Red Guardian, which also features Bill Foster and Bucky Barnes.
Another episode is anime-inspired and features Avengers piloting mechs fighting Mega-Hulk monsters. The title of this episode has been revealed to be Go-Avengers: Heroes of the Gamma War, and it will feature Sam Wilson/Captain America, Shang-Chi, Black Widow, Moon Knight, and Monica Rambeau, among others.
Who is in the cast of What If…? Season 3?
What If…? Season 3 will see Jeffrey Wright back as the voice of Watcher.
Other returning cast members include:
- Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes
- David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov
- Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster
America Ferrera has been cast as Ranger Morales, a new original character, for What If…? Season 3.
Other returning characters include Moon Knight, Sam Wilson/Captain America, Agatha Harkness, Monica Rambeau, Shang-Chi, Black Widow, Tony Stark/Iron Man, Riri Williams/Ironheart, Vision, Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Melina Vostokoff, Shuri, Giant-Man, and Wong.
While there is no official confirmation yet, Oscar Issac will likely return as Moon Knight.
