What If…? Season 3 is just around the corner, and many recurring and new characters will be seen in this season. What If…? tells the stories of the multiverse and shows what if things had turned out to be different.

Anthony Mackie As Captain America
Sam Wilson’s character will return to What If…? Season 3, and Antony Mackie will return to voice his character. Sam has become an important Marvel character and will get his own film next year with Captain America: Brave New World.
Besides featuring in the MCU films, Antony Mackie’s other projects include Twisted Metal, Elevation, The Hurt Locker, The Adjustment Bureau, etc.
Hayley Atwell As Peggy Carter
Peggy Carter’s story has been crucial in the world of What If…? and both the character and the actress portraying it will return in the third season. Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter becoming Captain Carter was hinted at throughout What If…? Season 1 and 2, and it can be expected that the storyline would come to the forefront in season 3.
Atwell’s other projects besides What If…? include Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, Cinderella, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, Christopher Robin, etc.
David Harbour As Red Guardian
David Harbour will be back in What If…? Season 3 to voice the character of Red Guardian. The character had previously appeared in Black Widow and will have a more meaty role in Thunderbolts*. However, before that, fans will see him in What If…? Season 3 with Bucky Barnes and other characters.
Harbour has worked on projects like Creature Commandos, Suicide Squad, Hellboy, Stranger Things, Revolutionary Road, etc.
Sebastian Stan As Bucky Barnes
Much to the fans’ delight, Sebastian Stan will be coming back to voice the character of Bucky Barnes as the trailer of What If…? Season 3 revealed his character to be in the year 1950. Bucky has become an important character in the MCU and will also appear in Thunderbolts*.
Sebastian Stan’s other projects include A Different Man, The Devil All The Time, The Apprentice, Pam & Tommy, etc.
Teyonah Parris As Monica Rambeau
While Teyonah Parris will be coming back in What If…? Season 3 as Monica Rambeau, it is unclear which version of Monica will appear in the series finale. Her character can be connected to the previous stories of MCU and, in the process, integrate X men into this show. Monica has made a place for herself in Marvel since she gained powers from the hex of Wanda in WandaVision.
Parris’ other projects include Chi-Raq, Candyman, Dear White People, If Beale Street Could Talk, etc.
Mark Ruffalo As Bruce Banner Aka The Hulk
An episode titled What If... Hulk Fought The Mech Avengers? in What If…? Season 3 will feature the angry old Hulk as Mark Ruffalo returns to voice this green angry giant of the MCU. This episode has created much anticipation because it's all set to feature Hulk in all his angry glory after what seems like ages.
Mark Ruffalo has grown more and more important as an actor to Marvel since he replaced Edward Norton as Hulk. Ruffalo’s other projects include Poor Things, The Kids Are Alright, Now You See Me, 13 Going On 30, etc.
Tom Hiddleston As Loki
Another veteran member of the MCU, Tom Hiddleston, will voice the character of Loki in What If…? Season 3. Initially established as a villain, Loki has been a hugely important character in the world of Marvel before his character was shown in a more heroic light.
Hiddleston’s other projects include I Saw The Light, Only Lovers Left Alive, Kong: Skull Island, Crimson Peake, etc.
Simu Liu As Shang-Chi
Simu Liu will return as Shang-Chi in What If…? Season 3 in an episode styled under the Western theme. While the character gave rise to many hopes after his first film, he seemed to disappear from the MCU radar. However, with the final season of What If…? fans will witness him on screen again.
Simu Liu has also worked on projects like Barbie, Kim's Convenience, Arthur the King, Simulant, etc.
Kathryn Hahn As Agatha Harkness
Kathryn Hahn has won hearts as Agatha Harkness on Disney’s Agatha All Along. Therefore, it is great news for the fans that she will be returning to What If…? Season 3 and voice the character of Agatha. Since the showrunner of Agatha All Along confirmed that her character has not really reformed from her villainous arc, it remains to be seen what the character will be up to in What If…?.
Hahn has also starred in Bad Moms, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Step Brothers, etc.
Chris Hemsworth As Thor
Chris Hemsworth has been associated with the MCU for a long time now and will be back in What If…? Season 3 to voice the character of Thor. Thor’s character had previously also appeared in multiple episodes of What If…? Hemsworth has been a permanent member of the MCU as he has portrayed this character in several other Marvel films as well.
Hemsworth’s works, barring the ones under MCU, include Extraction, Ghostbusters, Furiosa, Men in Black: International, etc.
Hailee Steinfeld As Kate Bishop Hawkeye
Steinfeld is all set to make her first appearance in the What If…? universe in the show’s final season. She will voice the character of Kate Bishop Hawkeye. She will be seen alongside the character of Shang-Chi in a cowgirl avatar.
The actor has also worked on projects like Pitch Perfect 3, True Grit, The Edge of Seventeen, etc. She also provided voice to the character of Vi on the Netflix show Arcane.

Besides the main cast, many familiar faces will return to What If…? Season 3. These cast members include
