Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 15 was going to be a crucial one for Mitch Ripley, who emerged as a changed man, both physically and emotionally, at the end of it.

After the death of his best friend Sully, Mitch was having a hard time dealing with this grief, which was also affecting his professional life at Gaffney. Not only was he suspended from Gaffney and awaiting to learn his future there, but his love life with Asher was also in shambles.

Chicago Med Episode 15 saw Mitch rescuing a mother-daughter duo from a well. While his rescue mission was successful, he was trapped inside the well. Mouch and his team finally get him to rescue in time, and Mitch is saved literally and figuratively.

Here is everything that happened with Mitch in Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 15.

Mitch Ripley had a near-death experience in Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 15

Chicago Med Episode 15 was a crucial episode for Mitch, and things did not look good for him when he found a mother-daughter duo trapped inside a well.

Sadie, the mother, and Emelia, her daughter, were stuck in a well when Mitch reached out. Mouch from Chicago Fire was also on the scene after he called 911 for rescue.

Soon, Mitch reached down the well and managed to get Emelia to safety, but Sadie was in bad shape and needed a leg amputation. Mitch kept his presence of mind and talked to Sadie through the whole process, which helped ease Sadie's pain.

He successfully amputated the leg and brought the woman to safety, but just as he was about to get out, the well collapsed on Mitch in Chicago Med Episode 15. Soon, it was clear that Ripley was badly trapped and did not have a lot of oxygen. While he was about to give up, Dr. Charles motivated him by saying he has a bright future at Gaffney and must fight through it.

But it was Sully's voice that actually kept him conscious and safe in the well, which told him that they'll always remain brothers, and the fact that Sully is gone will never change this truth.

Mouch's team finally rescues Mitch, who takes a long gasp of air, confirming that he is finally out of danger. Dr. Asher also arrives at the scene and confesses her love to him.

Luke Mitchell on Mitch's Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 15

In an interview with TV Insider, actor Luke Mitchell discussed the importance of Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 15 for Mitch. While he faced a near-death experience, it will prove better for him in the long run, as it was a rebirth, the one where he dealt with the grief of losing Sully.

''And I think it’s an important scene for Ripley to kind of get the nudge that he needs to fight for himself, to fight for his own life and hopefully come out the other side, A, alive and B, in a better place mentally and physically.''

He added:

''Totally. Yeah, because the grief that Ripley has been dealing with is basically the catalyst for everything that’s been going wrong for Ripley. So I think it’s very poignant that it is Sully that he hallucinates in this moment.''

Looks like Mitch's experience and how Sully pulled him out of it will be a key event in his life moving forward, and his future at Gaffney might also change for the better in the upcoming episodes.
