Who is Michael Grant in 9-1-1 and what we know so far

Michael Grant is the husband of an LAPD officer and one of the show's protagonists, Athena Grant, in 9-1-1. He has two kids with Athena. After a few years of marriage, Michael came out to his wife and children as gay, which further led to their divorce.

Afterward, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and refused to take treatment. Eventually, he agrees to the chemotherapy, which ends up saving his life. In Season 5, Michael meets David, a neurosurgeon, and falls in love with him. By the end of the season, David breaks the news to Michael that he is moving to Haiti to volunteer in a massive Hurricane on the Island, while Michael is seen tagging along with him.

The actor refused to follow the covid 19 mandate and cited medical and religious reasons, seeking damage of $1 million, according to a report by TMZ.

He goes public with his arguments and posted:

“I applied for religious and medical accommodations pursuant to the law and unfortunately was denied by my employer.”
