Beauty in Black is a Netflix show from creator and director Tyler Perry. Beauty in Black was released on the streaming platform giant in two parts, with the second part having recently concluded. Beauty in Black chronicles an exotic dancer's journey through the shadowy and murky world of entertainment clubs that mask a sex-trafficking ring owned by a cosmetics dynasty.

Among several other characters on the show, the character of Angel, played by actor Xavier Smalls, has attracted attention to the extent that audiences are curious about his fate following the bombastic climax.

As shown in the second part finale of Beauty in Black, Angel didn't die but was ambushed and arrested while attempting to dispose of a body. Here's everything else that we know.

Beauty in Black: Angel's fate and other details explained

Beauty in Black is a fast-paced narrative that often rushes past exposition. Tyler Perry goes to great lengths to make sure that the audience is at the edge of their seats while watching the show. Angel's fate is at the center of an intriguing plot that might spill over to a probable second season of the show.

Contrary to popular belief, Angel didn't die at the end of the Netflix show's second part. It all started with Sylvie chancing upon the dead body of a man lying on the backseat of the car that Kimmie had stolen. Things are further escalated when they realize that the deceased man is somehow connected to the infamous gangster Daniel Lakeland. The man had been sickly and suffering, and Sylvie and the others realize that he died as a result of having missed his insulin dose.

Angel is then faced with a tough predicament after the news of the deceased is widely circulated. His path is beset with difficulties as he decides to spare Kimmie from being arrested on account of the deceased. He therefore makes up his mind to get rid of the body. During the course of doing so, Angel is ambushed by the police, who arrest him. It can be speculated that Angel's eventual fate would be a prominent storyline in the second season of the show.

Tyler Perry speaks about Beauty in Black

Creator Tyler Perry spoke at length about his new show with Tudum, during which he revealed the sources of his inspiration and more. Perry remarked:

"I was told many times over many years that Black entertainment doesn’t travel throughout the world. To have Netflix continue to disprove that over and over with everything I’ve put on the platform has been phenomenal.”

He then proceeded to reveal:

"The hair-care business here is huge, (and Atlanta club) Magic City is huge, and I was like, ‘What happened if those worlds collided — the stripper world and this hair-care business?’"

Perry further added:

"The demographic of my audience (is) all over the place. I wanted to make sure that we’re not only bringing in new faces but also bringing in faces that people know, that are familiar, and who can lend something incredible to the series.”

Beauty in Black is available exclusively on Netflix.
