The Great British Bake Off Season 15 Episode 2 aired recently on October 1, 2024. During the latest episode, the theme was Biscuit Week. For that, bakers were supposed to participate in the Showstopper challenge. As a result, the contestants prepared edible puppet theaters and it was quite exciting.

However, things were not working well with one of the bakers, Georgie. For the challenge, she prepared her Welsh Festival Biscuit Puppet Theater. Referring to the latest episode of The Great British Bake Off, Georgie took to Instagram to share the incident.

In her October 2, 2024 Instagram post, The Great British Bake Off star shared that the recent Biscuit Week has been an "exceptionally hard week" for her. She mentioned how she made something that she wouldn't even "imagined" of creating.

"I wasn't sure whether to say this, but I am, it's part of me and my journey. And consumed almost all of the showstopper. It's not a sob story or an excuse as to why I didn't do amazing, but it's something I want to explain. And with it being baby loss awareness week next week, it feels appropriate to share awareness."

The Great British Bake Off star was referring to how she lost her necklace and lost her little girl, who was stillborn at the time, 25 weeks. Hence, after losing her special "mother-daughter necklace," Georgie couldn't perform "amazingly."

Georgie, 34, recently shared a heartfelt Instagram post. She captioned the post, sharing how her recent Biscuit Week baking competition went.

The Great British Bake Off star started the post with quite reservations about whether to share it or not and wrote,

"In March of 2021, my life changed forever when my little girl was stillborn at 25 weeks. During the showstopper challenge, my necklace that I wear daily with her hand and footprint, and my mother daughter necklace, broke halfway through the challenge without me knowing, and I had a meltdown."

The pediatric nurse shared how she wanted to "call it quits." However, things turned positive when the show's production team approached Georgie about the same. At first, The Great British Bake Off co-hosts Alison and Noel came forward, comforted the baker, and encouraged her to finish the challenge.

"The team were absolutely amazing, Alison and Noel held me and comforted me and pushed me to carry on. We then found the pieces on the floor, and the team kept them safe for me and actually ran out to buy me a new chain."

Georgie added how she couldn't stop crying throughout the rest of the challenge. That was the reason why the baker looked "puffy and ugly." Despite her efforts to continue working on the challenge, she couldn't give it "her all."

GBBO star concluded her post by sharing appreciation for the "best friends" she had met on the show and mentioned,

"I’m so lucky to have made the best friends in this tent and always had my girl Illy to drag me out of the gutter when I needed her, and all the other bakers."

By the end of the post, The Great British Bake Off baker apologized for not "giving her best" while also mentioning that she was not looking for sympathy "or anything."

With star baker Georgie's "hope" of doing "better" next week, she also mentioned her support for "anyone struggling" that they were not alone.

After learning about Georgie's struggles, fellow bakers, including Illiyian, Sumayah, Mike Wilkins, etc., commented on the post.
