Taylor Wardlaw met Terret Sims in 2018, and their relationship was chaotic, as confirmed by their friends and family on Snapped: Oxygen. But even after having a baby with her boyfriend, that did not stop Taylor from killing him and then reporting his disappearance to the police.

She claimed in front of the police that she had last seen the father of her child on December 20, 2022. He was at her home with their child, and then she could not track him. She finally called the police to report him missing and posted about the same on her social media.

The police began their search for Sims, but little did they know that it was futile, as Taylor had already murdered and disposed of his body.

After almost two weeks, the police found Sims' body bundled in a disposable bag near a creek off Monticello Road in Richland Country. After the initial autopsy, the police confirmed that Sims had died due to multiple gunshot wounds found on his body.

It was Marcella Jacobs, Sims' twin sister, who is also featured on the Snapped episode, who had a hunch that Taylor is hiding something:

“I started to put together... After I got the story... I put it together and I was like yeah, she’s not telling me something,”

Working on Marcella's hunch, the police started digging into Taylor and Sims' relationship. They found out that she had previously accused him of domestic violence, due to which he was arrested and missed his child's birth, before she bailed him in August 2021.

After this incident, Sims' was ordered to wear a tracking band and not to have any contact with her or their child.

The Columbia Police Sergeant revealed on Snapped it was after Mitch Henry, Sims' friend, who revealed to the police that Taylor had admitted to committing her boyfriend's murder:

“Taylor told her, ‘I did it — I killed Terrell,’” Taylor said that he had come home late, and they got into some sort of argument.”

Upon further investigation, the police found out that Taylor had visited a pawn shop near Monticello Road, where Sims' body was found. She was there to sell his mouth grill, his only piece of jewelry that was valuable to her, and she sold it after killing him in cold blood.

They also discovered that Taylor was aided by her new boyfriend, Eddie “Youngsta” Brown, and the two were seen driving in a rental car between 4:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on December 20. The police found Sims' blood in the trunk and a gunshot hole in the hood of Taylor's car, which confirmed that she had killed Sims.

On discussing her motive, the officer said this on Snapped:

“The only motive that we could clearly see was just her anger towards him that she thought he was cheating on her...She was calling him over and over and over that night. I’m sure that her rage was building over the course of those hours.”

Taylor was sentenced to 20 years of life imprisonment.
