After causing immense trouble and destruction in various timelines, Netflix's The Umbrella Academy has come to an end after four successful seasons. The action and comedy-drama debuted on Netflix in 2019, and its new take on the genre earned notable appreciation. The Umbrella Academy revolves around seven out of forty-three unusual children born on the same day.

Following their birth, a billionaire named Reginald Hargreeves adopted seven children and helped them gain superpowers, known as the Umbrella Academy. Throughout the series, the seven siblings find themselves in unusual situations with different timelines.

In The Umbrella Academy season 4, they again found themselves in a new timeline, but this time without their powers. This is the first time when the Hargreeves siblings don't have any mighty power but discover that they come from a substance called Marigold.

However, little did the siblings know that if there was Marigold, another destructive substance, Durango, might cause the biggest apocalypse. They find Ben and Jennifer infected with Marigold and Durango, which merged them into giant monstrous beings, causing havoc in the world.

In the last episode titled End of the Beginning, Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Five, and Viktor, along with Lila, discovered that the apocalypses and multiple timelines exist because of their existence, and the only way to save the world and get back to the original timeline is to erase themselves through the 'Cleanse' process.

So, in the end, the siblings leave their families on a subway, which will take them to the real world, and prepare to merge themselves with Ben and Jennifer (Durango) and Marigold, which lies inside them.

Before disappearing from the world, the siblings and Lila form a circle to say their final goodbyes in a lighthearted manner and gradually fade out of existence.

While Lila Pitts isn't one of the seven Hargreeves siblings, she is one of the forty-three children who were born on the same day. Introduced in The Umbrella Academy season 2, Lila plays a crucial role in advancing the plot.

She forms a romantic relationship with Diego Hargreeves, and the two face numerous challenges ahead of their journey till season 4. She can also mimic others' superpowers, making her a significant character.

In season 4, Lila and Diego share children, and to save them from an upcoming apocalypse, she decides to erase herself along with the Hargreeves siblings. The Umbrella Academy featured a deep bond between Lila and her family members, justifying her decision to fade away with them.

After the Hargreeves siblings and Lila Pitts fade away from the world, a new day begins without their existence. In the final scenes, children and adults can be seen enjoying normal lives, and it's the year 2024.

We also hear the voice of Reginald Hargreeves saying, "Absolutely nothing out of ordinary occurred... It was just a normal day", highlighting that the world has gotten back to normal.

However, in the credit scenes, we see eight beautiful marigold flowers blooming, possibly hinting that Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Five, Viktor, Ben, and Lila haven't completely disappeared and are present in the form of those flowers.

Since they gained powers from a substance called marigold, seeing those flowers immediately connects them.
