In this mystery series, Grosse Pointe Garden Society, the nickname "Quiche" is given to the murder victim, but their real identity is unknown. Four friends, Birdie, Catherine, Brett, and Alice, are at the center of this case.
The story follows their lives in a small Michigan town, switching between the present and the future. The biggest mystery revolves around who Quiche really is and what led to their death.
The body was discovered wrapped in a white and blue blanket, marked with extensive bloodstains. The victim was also wearing New Balance sneakers.
However, the police have not identified the body, and no one seems to be looking for them. The mystery deepens as it becomes clear that there are many twists ahead before the truth is revealed.
What happens at the garden party?
One of the most shocking moments in the story takes place six months in the future and whatever happened, the show indicates it happened at a fancy garden party. The four friends are seen burying a body during a garden society gala. At the time, they believed it was a foolproof way to hide the evidence.
But their plan begins to collapse when the garden society decides to dig up the land for renovations. Now, they risk being exposed. The real question is, why did they commit the murder, and who did they kill?
As the story starts getting clearer, we see that each of the four friends has personal struggles and secrets. Alice, a schoolteacher, publicly accuses one of her students of poisoning her dog. Birdie, known for her reckless behavior, may have only joined the garden club to complete her court-ordered community service.
Catherine, a perfectionist, is cheating on her husband, only to find out she is just one of many women he has been involved with. Brett, dealing with his ex-wife’s infidelity, is struggling to be a good father while also harboring feelings for Alice, who is married.
Since there was no news on Quiche, they figured probably no one was looking for the victim and that's when Catherine came up with an idea, suggesting Birdie invest in a new house where they can hide the Quiche's body.
Birdie later confesses to Joel that she and her friends were involved in the murder. She even gives him the victim’s phone. Instead of disposing of it, Joel leaves the phone at a shoe store where Gary works.
Birdie then told Joel that she along with her friends was a part of the murder by giving him the phone of the quiche. But, Joel did not dispose of it, instead, he left the phone at a shoe store where Gary works and coincidentally, the same type of New Balance sneakers that the victim was wearing are displayed at the store, hinting at a deeper connection to the crime.
Birdie reveals disturbing details about the murder. The crime scene was covered in blood, and the victim had multiple wounds. The group used various gardening tools to commit the murder and later cleaned up using ammonia and hydrogen peroxide.
To make matters worse, Joel hides the murder weapons inside the police station’s evidence room, creating another layer of risk. At this point, the biggest question remains, who is Quiche? The mystery continues, with plenty of secrets yet to be uncovered.
