While Stella Maeve's Nadia's journey in Chicago PD was short, her character and story are still remembered, especially because of her connection to Sophia Bush's Erin Lindsay.
Nadia was introduced in Season 1 of the show, and she was working as a s*x worker (despite being underage) when we first met her. In addition, she also struggled with narcotics dependency, and Lindsay saw herself in the young woman.
While Lindsay was helping Nadia to turn her life around, Nadia's dreams were thwarted, and she was killed by serial killer Gregory Yates (Dallas Roberts) in Season 2.
Yates is one of the most pathetic serial killers and rapists introduced in Chicago PD, and he brutally killed Nadia to get back at Lindsay. Her death in Chicago PD had a devastating effect on the detective.

Nadia was murdered by Yates to get back at Lindsay in Chicago PD Season 2
While Nadia initially didn't heed Lindsay's advice of trying to get sober, she later took her help to turn her life around. Nadia relapsed a few times, but eventually got sober at the beginning of Season 2.
Lindsay helped her get a job as an administrative assistant for the Intelligence Unit and gave her a spare room in her apartment. Nadia was always taking Criminology courses to become a police officer like Lindsay.
Serial killer Gregory Yates kidnapped Nadia in a special crossover episode with Law & Order: SVU. He tied her in the trunk of his car and fled to New York. The team was already investigating a string of murders leading to Yates, but they didn't have any evidence to prove it.
Lindsay and Hank Voight met up with Olivia Benson, where they tracked Yates in New York. A tip led them to a beach where they found Nadia's body, who was raped, tortured and killed by Yates.
Lindsay blamed herself for Nadia's death in Chicago PD
Nadia's murder helped convict Yates, who was abnormally intrigued by the final moments of Nadia's death during his court hearing. The jury noticed that he was taking a creepy pleasure in recalling the incident, and he was finally convicted for Nadia's murder and rape.
However, he escapes prison in Season 3 and attacks Lindsay by blaming her for Nadia's death. Lindsay shoots and kills him in self-defense.
But before this incident, Lindsay was deeply affected by Nadia's death, which led her to spiral, and she began drinking and consuming narcotics again. Things worsened when her mother entered her life, which affected her professional performance.
She even resigned in the Season 2 finale, which concerned Voight and Jay Halstead. Her life finally started returning back on track when she helped save Jay with her team, who was kidnapped in the Season 3 premiere.
She finally avenged Nadia's death by killing Yates in Season 3.
While Nadia couldn't fulfill her dream, the deputy chief posthumously recruited her as a police officer in the CPD. She was also honored with a memorial stone outside the precinct.
Nadia's storyline remains one of the most important on the show, and it has been crucial to the evolution of Detective Lindsay's professional career.
