Netflix recently aired Love is Blind: Argentina Episodes 9 and 10 on November 20, 2024. These episodes featured the final phase of the social experiment, where engaged couples' wedding ceremonies are held, and couples share their decision, whether to get married or return home as singles.
Love is Blind: Argentina featured four wedding ceremonies, including Florencia—Jose Luis, Julieta—Ezequiel, Emily—Santiago, and Maria Emilia—Mauricio. While all the other couples said their "I do," Maria Emilia and Mauricio did not get married as the female cast member didn't want to proceed with their wedding ceremony.
Maria Emilia read out her wedding vows at the ceremony:
"I'm stuck between formalizing our union and feeling a bit overwhelmed, confused, sad, and slightly frustrated because of a lack of ownership and recurring behavior that were painful to experience."
She continued:
"I believe that we all deserve peace and love in our lives. As a result, and in search of that peace and that love, I am here today, at this altar, trusting in the will of God. I want to thank you for this journey and apologize if I hurt you at any point. I have no other answer, even though I wish it were different than to tell you…No. I don't want to. I can't accept you as my husband. I'm sorry."
Love is Blind: Argentina: What happened during Maria Emilia and Mauricio's wedding ceremony?
Love is Blind: Argentina recently aired its finale episodes 9 and 10. As the social experiment's tenth episode featured, it was "one of the most important days" of Maria Emilia's life.
"I've spent so much time thinking and dreaming about this day. When I decided to commit to this experience, I was so excited about the journey. I was happy to get started. And that's who I want to feel today," Maria Emilia confessed.
After arriving at the wedding venue, Mauricio shared how he has "matured" and that his definition of marriage has changed. He described marriage as "truly a beautiful gesture."
Three of Maria Emilia's closest friends, her mother, sister, and brother, came to accompany her. Her brother was the one who walked the female participant down the aisle. For Mauricio, his friends and sister had come.
At the altar, when the officiant asked the cast members about their decision to get married, Mauricio shared:
"The moment we realized we aren't doing this out of fear of being alone but because we want to embark upon this journey together, hand in hand. I want to be there for you whenever you need me, through the worse storms and on the brightest days."
After that, the Love is Blind: Argentina star said, "I do."
Maria Emilia also shared something that she had written. The female cast member shared how her heart was full of "joy and faith" initially. She talked about how she decided to be brave and opened her heart to find the love of her life.
"I loved you. I fell in love and proposed to you because I was certain that you were also choosing me. Having said that, as we are now facing an extremely important life decision."
As Maria Emilia shared her decision not to get married, Mauricio hugged her while she thanked him. He then left alone, and the bride apologized to the guests and thanked them all for attending the ceremony.
After leaving the ceremony, the Love is Blind: Argentina star confessed how the situation was "painful" for herself and Mauricio in "different ways."
"But I think we both know deep down this is for the best. I wish our relationship could've worked out, but there's a quality I know I need in a partner, and it was missing from our relationship."
Maria Emilia wanted a partner who "listens" to and "values" her. She also opened up about wanting a partner who accepts her for who she is, both "inside and out." While opening up about this, the female cast member couldn't stop crying after she left the wedding ceremony.
Mauricio confessed how he would have wanted to give their relationship a "try." However, he said he'd "rather focus on accepting" that Maria Emilia is not "the one."
