Beauty in Black's debut season's second part recently ended with a cliffhanger finale. Created by Tyler Perry, Beauty in Black chronicles the tale of a strip club dancer by the name of Kimmie who is drawn into the fold of a wealthy Chicago family that is the last word in the cosmetics industry. While fans of the Netflix show are eagerly looking forward to the second season of Beauty in Black, several questions have been left unanswered.

One such question is that of the central character Horace Bellairie's fate. During the finale of the second part, Horace is seen lying on a hospital bed, apparently tired after the financial tug-of-war between him and his family. His ex-wife, sons, Norman, Mallory, Varney, and Jules storm into his room, where he condescendingly introduces them to Kimmie as his wife. Beauty in Black: Horace Bellairie's character explored

Horace Bellaire is the undeniable patriarch of the Bellaire family. He has built a cosmetics empire from scratch. Now nearing the twilight of his life, Horace doesn't wish for his hard-earned wealth to naturally effortlessly be passed on to his children after his demise. He considers his children to be inefficient and lazy brats who would never be able to appreciate the worth of his wealth since they haven't had to work for a single day in their lives.

Horace therefore makes a rather unusual decision in the second part of the Netflix show. He pops up the question of marriage to Kimmie, played by Taylor Polidore Williams. Horace and Kimmie were acquainted throughout the series but have never been in love. When Kimmie enquires about why Horace wants to marry her, he forthcomingly tells her that by marrying her he would ensure that his wealth passes on to her and not to his children.

Although Kimmie takes a beat to make up her mind, she eventually agrees to marry Horace after finding out that his net worth is at a high $370 billion. Horace too tells her himself that he owns so much money that she won't have to work again in her life.

The show deliberately keeps Horace's ultimate fate under wraps and by the end of the finale it isn't clear whether Horace died or not. It can be speculated that the second season will shed more light in this direction.

Beauty in Black star Taylor Polidore Williams opens up about the show and her character

Speaking in an exclusive interview with TVLine, actress Taylor Polidore Williams opened up about her character. When asked about Kimmie's first murder on the show, Williams remarked:

"I was extremely surprised. I was like, ‘She gets to do what?!’ And everyone really wanted to watch when it happened. No one could be in the room (when the special effects team blew up the fake head), so we were all shouting around the monitors waiting see it go off. It was a fun day on set.”

Williams further commented on Horace's marriage to Kimmie, stating:

"It’s a sugar baby’s dream, I guess, to have a sugar daddy who doesn’t want any sugar, but still gives you a company and gives you millions. It’s great!"
