MobLand, the latest crime series on Paramount Plus, straightaway dives into an intense drama and action-filled storyline. In the first two episodes, the audience gets acquainted with the Irish Harrigan crime family led by Conrad Harrigan (portrayed by Pierce Brosnan) and the rival crime family, the Stevensons, led by Richie Stevenson (played by Geoff Bell).

MobLand is created by Ronan Bennett and directed by Guy Ritchie. The stellar star cast of the show includes Pierce Brosnan, Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Geoff Bell, Daniel Betts, Lisa Dwan, and Emily Barber, among others.

Who is referred to as ‘grass’ in MobLand?

Conrad Harrigan and his wife Maeve (played by Helen Mirren) are looking for ways to expand their organized crime business. They are faced with challenges from the rival crime family ‘the Stevensons,' led by Richie Stevenson (played by Geoff Bell).

Maeve informs Conrad that Archie Hammond has been leaking information about the Harrigans’ expansion plans to Richie. Archie is a childhood friend of Conrad and has played a vital role in the business. Conrad, who blindly believes his wife shoots Archie dead, calling him a ‘grass’ for double-dealing.

Meanwhile, DS Ivan Fisk (played by Luke Mably) takes Harry da Souza (played by Tom Hardy), fixer for the Harrigans, for questioning as they were looking for Archie. Harry wonders if Archie worked with the police as well.

Conrad will later explain his actions to Harry,

"There’s no mercy in nature; that’s what I love about it."
