Recently emerged four-time Jeopardy! winner Ryan Manton shared many insights from his time on the popular game show. In his appearance with WOSU on October 9, 2024, Ryan opened up about his big win from last week on Jeopardy!
Ohio native Ryan Manton shared that everything on the game show was "shocking." It was because everything went "quick." Fans saw Ryan competing in five games, which Ryan called a "blink of an eye."
Ryan, 31, won $86,000 on Jeopardy! through his five games, winning four and coming second in his fifth game.
"The shocking thing to me was just how quick everything goes. I was able to be on five games, and even that seemed like it was just over in the blink of an eye. And then they throw me back out on the street, and it's over."

Ryan Manton, 31, is the recently emerged star player on the iconic game Jeopardy! He is a systems administrator who works for a nonprofit housing organization. As he shared recently in his interview, the game was nothing like seeing it on "TV."
Referring to his five games on Jeopardy, Ryan mentioned that it seemed like a "blink of an eye" and that everything was over quite fast. For the fans who won't know, last week's episodes where Ryan's appearance was featured on Jeopardy! was shot earlier in June. It took almost a day, and all of Ryan’s games were filmed.
However, before actually appearing for the game show, the processes of getting into/ applying for the game show began quite early. Referring to that, Ryan shared,
"You don't get to know that at any point. You might get an email from them that says you passed the test."
After that, selected players are supposed to go through a proctored test and the mock Jeopardy! Game. Later on, seeing how the players perform, selected ones are advanced further on the show.
While talking about getting ready for the game show, the Jeopardy! winner discussed how his wife, Lauren, was also among the past players on the show. However, she was placed third during her time on the game back in 2021.
Ryan also recalled proposing to Lauren on the same night, which was a night before the game.
"And I'm also trying to convince Lauren to get me a fountain machine, so I can have Coke Zero on demand." Ryan teased.
Regarding how Ryan had practiced at his usual spot in Grandview, he said he would continue visiting Endeavor Brewing.
"You learn a lot of weird factoids that might not really help you in life, but if you need to just regurgitate rote-memorized information, trivia is kind of helpful for that," shared Ryan.
Ryan spent his childhood in Akron and studied cloud computing and computer science. Regarding his educational background, Ryan also mentioned not facing any "tech questions," which might have helped him even better in his game.
He further shared for the avid fans looking forward to participating in the game show.
"It seems, you know, daunting to be up there, but really, anyone can do it." shared Ryan.
Looking back on Ryan Manton's Jeopardy! winnings, the four-time champion came out of a winning stream and made almost $86,000 from this game. Initially, Ryan won four Games.
On Friday's game, Ryan came second, marking his four continuous winnings. Seeing how well he performed, some fans even took to social media platform X to share their support for the newly emerged four-time champion.
With almost $90k in winnings, Ryan teased about using his game show winning amount to go on a trip with his wife and his fountain machine.
