Netflix’s Umbrella Academy season 4 official synopsis says that the current storyline will pick up right where Season 3 left off. The Season 3 finale shows the Hargreeves siblings stranded in a new timeline. The Hotel Oblivion is a universe-altering machine that Reginald is going to use to create a new world using the power of the siblings.
The siblings are fatally injured in the process of creating the new world. Allison uses the machine again to reset everything that has been disrupted in this timeline. This move heals them and transports them to a timeline where everything is normal, but leaves them powerless. Season 3 also reveals that Reginald is alive and has more power than anyone can imagine. His dead wife is now alive and by his side.
Stripped of their superhuman abilities, the siblings now must adjust to a new normal. Reginald has come out of the shadows and owns a powerful business empire. A mysterious group of people known as the Keepers hold secret meetings to learn the reality of the timeline they live in. When new troubles arise, the Hargreeves siblings must reunite to set things right.

Netflix's Umbrella Academy Season 4 will mainly show the stars' efforts to regain their powers. After realizing that their adoptive father Reginald is still alive, the siblings may approach him to understand his intentions behind trying to reboot the universe.
In this timeline, Reginald has no recollection of the events that occurred in the previous timeline shown in season 3. At the beginning of the official trailer released by Netflix, we hear the siblings say that they are on a rescue mission in their alternate timeline without their powers, without specifying who they are rescuing.
We also get a glimpse of Five and Lila standing in a deserted place. We see Victor and Ben who have somehow managed to regain their power that they lost at the end of season 3.
