The true crime docuseries is renowned for bringing to light haunting and bone-chilling murder cases. The final volume 3 dropped its third episode titled, Body in Bags, unraveling the gruesome killing of Michigan resident David Carter.
David Carter was the loving father of a 16-year-old teenage son, DJ, living peacefully in the city of Melvindale, Michigan, doing what he loved. When David wasn’t working at an automobile manufacturing unit, he was busy being the owner of a clothing line known as “Lavish Habits.”

Things were well until the victim encountered his girlfriend Tammy Williams in March 2018. The duo had known each other since high school and reignited their romance at a mutual friend’s party. Months later, they forged a romantic relationship and went on to date for 6 months.
Tammy was a phlebotomist, a person responsible for drawing blood in a hospital. She also worked as a travel agent. Like her then-boyfriend, Williams was a mother of two children, per the show’s official site. They were both living as a blended family.
It wasn’t a happy family for too long especially after David was reportedly trying to end their relationship. Per the publication, Tammy grew envious of David when he so much as spoke to another woman who wasn’t her and hardly let him out of her sight.
Eventually, they split up, and it did not sit well with Tammy who went to an unfortunate and extreme length to mark the end of their relationship.

Tammy Williams was responsible for mutilating and dismembering the body of her late boyfriend David Carter and discarding it in bags in 2018. Unsolved Mysteries unwraps her crimes in detail.
On the evening of September 28, 2018, David and his family decided to attend a football game with Tammy. At the time, David and Tammy were not involved romantically, per the late victim’s ex-partner and DJ's mother Samia Conner. Furthermore, she noted that two days later, her son was supposed to pick up DJ from his mother’s residence but he never did.
Conner claimed she received a text mentioning he was sick and would pick DJ up later. In Unsolved Mysteries, DJ recalled going to his father’s house to collect personal items for a prolonged stay. Upon his arrival, DJ noticed Tammy getting rid of her trash hastily but grabbed his belongings and left.
Days later on October 2, 2018, Carter's family was concerned after learning their son hadn’t shown up at work since they last saw him. Naturally, they dropped by to find a harrowing truth, as explored in Unsolved Mysteries.
Firstly, the door was unlocked, and the house was pretty much untouched until they got to the bedroom. They found a massive blood stain below the mattress followed by a bullet hole insinuating the obvious: something malicious went on and David was in grave danger.
Speaking to a Netflix producer in Unsolved Mysteries, Carter’s sister Tasia Carter-Jackson recalled asking Tammy about her brother’s whereabouts saying,
“On Tuesday night, after we saw the stain and the bullet hole, I called Tammy and I said, ‘Tammy I’m going to ask you one more time, where is my brother.”
The victim's sister mentioned Tammy simply played dumb and said she had no idea where he was and that she hadn’t seen him since the game. On October 1, a local road crew discovered a sleeping bag with the lower half of an unidentified body with a tattoo etched on the calf.
Authorities were later able to identify the remains as David Carter and arrested Williams four days later.

Tammy Williams from Unsolved Mysteries is currently absconding and is on the wanted list across America. Despite a 72-hour arrest period and hours of questioning, police didn’t have enough evidence to convict and charge her and hence, she was released. Tammy used that window as an escape.
Hours after the police obtained a warrant charging her with first-degree murder, mutilation of a dead body, and evidence tampering - it was too late because she was gone. Police firmly believe she shot her ex-boyfriend in his sleep sometime on Saturday night or Sunday morning and accordingly disposed of his body in Ohio, where it was found.
Williams was last seen at the Neptune Hotel in Brooklyn, New York where she spent a single day there and has never been heard from or spotted since then. The search for the dangerous killer is still afoot. Police described her as an individual with a height of 5’5 and a striking rose tattoo along her shoulder and arm.
Currently, the state is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone with information about Tamera ‘Tammy’ Renee Williams. The Unsolved Mysteries episode Body in Bags is currently streaming on Netflix.
