As per the interview, the makers are calling this the 'best' finale of the series so far and teased a 'big' story that will challenge the show's couples. Josh Pate said on Outer Banks couples:
''We're trying to find new challenges for the couples...all the characters are happily with their significant other, so we have to find new obstacles to throw at them, and that's what, really, we were trying to explore. How do we keep the romance stories moving forward?''
As Pate hinted from the above statement, viewers can expect the couples to face new challenges. While these challenges can be external, we can expect obstacles within their relationships, ultimately leading to their maturity and growth.
Sarah, Pope, and JJ's Fate in Outer Banks Season 4 Part 2
One of the significant secrets discovered in Part 1 of Outer Banks was the truth about JJ's parentage. Wes Genrette's letter exposes how Luke is not JJ's real father. Instead, Larissa Genrette is his birth mother, and Chandler Groff, her Kook husband, is his real father. This makes Wes JJ's grandfather.
With that shocker, Outer Banks Season 4 Part 2 can further this secret unraveling of how Larissa died and JJ ended up with Luke. With Genrette's family curse, JJ is also in danger.
