The new year is extra great for fans of the One Chicago universe as the crossover that fans have been waiting for long is finally going to happen. It has been confirmed that in January 2025, the three One Chicago shows, namely, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD are coming together for one big and blazing crossover that is sure to make the fans “go bananas.”

The last crossover that happened in the One Chicago universe was five years ago, in 2019. After that the pandemic hit and that was the major reason for no other crossover to take place. However, after a long wait, finally fans are going to see their favorite heroes on screen, coming together to save the day.

While the excitement around the crossover is already high, comments by Chicago Med star Steven Weber have further elevated the anticipation. While Weber did not specify which members of the two other shows will be featured in the crossover, he did say that this would be an Avenger-style crossover, which means it is going to be huge.

Let us now explore in detail what Weber said about the upcoming One Chicago crossover and what it would mean for the shows.

Steven Weber of Chicago Med promises an Avenger-style crossover

In an interview with ScreenRant, Weber talked about the crossover that is to come, saying,

“I don't want to give anything away, but I will say that I've heard that it's very, very difficult to act while wearing 40 to 50 pounds of gear, oxygen tanks, and masks. This is what I've heard. It's really hard. But the thing is that this particular crossover is the equivalent of the audience going to a One Chicago amusement park and combine that with all these amazing actors.”

He further added,

“It's not just a couple here and there mincing through the ER or some doctor shows up at a crash site or something like that. This is like Avengers: Endgame. Everybody comes in and they are going! And the audience is going to be screaming. That's all I'm going to say.”

The fact that he mentioned Avengers: Endgame while describing the crossover has made the fans anticipate more excitement than ever. The Avengers: Endgame is not only one of the highest-grossing films of modern times, but the coming together of all the superheroes in that film holds a special place in the hearts of the fans.

Similarly, fans of the One Chicago universe will love to see the heroes come together to do what they do best, saving people. However, the reference to Avengers: Endgame, has also made the fans worry since given the nature of the crossover, the stakes are very likely to be extremely high and might involve threats to not only the general public but also to the main heroes of the shows.

Moreover, as 40 people are stuck underground, the heroes must race against time to save them and this time it’s not only the civilians as two of their people are also down there.
