Wednesday, Season 2 actress Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd recently sat down for an interview with Film Updates to promote their upcoming Death of a Unicorn. The Film Updates interview touched upon a wide range of topics, including the movie, and then it veered toward the upcoming interview of Netflix's Wednesday series.
The question specifically asked Ortega about her experience with Lady Gaga, whose inclusion in Wednesday Season 2 was rumored back in November 2024. Jenna Ortega, who plays the titular character Wednesday Addams, had nothing but positive things to say about her experience with the beloved singer and actress. Revealing that she is a fan, Ortega said this:
“I just started listening [to her new album Mayhem] this morning when I was getting ready. She’s so unbelievably cool. How she still does it, I don’t know. Working with her, we couldn’t believe that she actually showed up, even on the day. I think it was a surreal feeling. But she is such a sweetheart, she’s so kind and just an absolutely lovely presence to be around. And obviously, she’s so immensely talented. Tim [Burton] and I really had a great time getting to know her. It kind of felt like a pipe dream. We didn’t really think that something like that could ever happen, so we were just very grateful and appreciative. We love her.”
Detailing Lady Gaga's involvement with Wednesday Season 2:
As stated before, rumors of Lady Gaga's involvement with Wednesday Season 2 swirled on the internet since November 2024. It wasn't confirmed until recently that Lady Gaga was indeed a part of the second season. This was done by none other than Lady Gaga herself to Entertainment Weekly in a March 6, 2025, interview to promote her then-upcoming album Mayhem. Confirming her involvement, here's what she said:
“I don’t want to give away anything about being part of the show. I want to keep it extra secret — but, I love Jenna, and I really had an amazing time!"
So, based on what Lady Gaga said, it looks like she and Jenna Ortega had a great time filming the upcoming season of Wednesday. However, her role remains undisclosed for now.
But Wednesday Season 2 is not the first time Lady Gaga and the Netflix series crossed paths though. The singer's hit song, "Bloody Mary," was used for the first season. At that time, Jenna Ortega expressed hope for Lady Gaga's involvement during a 2022 interview with Variety.
What is Wednesday Season 2 about? How to watch it?
As of now, not much is known about this season except for a brief description. In a January 30, 2025 interview with Tudum executive, producers and showrunners Miles Millar and Al Gough teased:
“This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries, propelling her headlong into another year at Nevermore.”
Based on this tease, we can determine that Wednesday Addams has to navigate another challenging year at Nevermore. However, Millar and Gough were not the only ones who offered exciting teases for the second season of Wednesday. Catherine Zeta-Jones, who plays Wednesday's mother, Morticia Addams, had this to say about Wednesday Season 2:
“This season is going to be bigger and more twisted than you can ever imagine.”
As for how to watch the series, the season will be available to stream on Netflix.
As of now, the release date for Wednesday Season 2 hasn't been released. Until then, catch the entirety of season 1 on Netflix.
