The quirky misfits, mysterious outcasts, and supernatural beings are gearing up for the second year at Nevermore Academy as Wednesday Season 2 returns with a bang! As new challenges and mysteries arise, the iconicly emotionless and fiercely independent Wednesday Addams must prepare herself.

She will be joined by all her allies, including her polar opposite best friend, Enid. But what if we tell you that one character whom every fan might be anticipating won't return? Sadly, Percy Hynes White, who played Xavier Thorpe, has departed from Wednesday Season 2.

This will serve as startling news for many, as Xavier was expected to be Wednesday's next love interest after Tyler was revealed to be the monster. Interestingly, Addams saved Xavier's life when they were ten, and he returned the favor by saving her in the first episode.

Since then, Xavier had a keen interest in Wednesday, but he unfortunately didn't get the chance to date her. By the end of Season 1, Addams took an arrow for Xavier, once again saving him and hinting at a potential romance in Season 2.

However, now that he's not coming back, it would be intriguing to watch how Wednesday Season 2 addresses his and one more character's absence. Continue reading to know who else isn't returning.

The story in Wednesday Season 1 kicks off with Wednesday Addams joining the mysterious Nevermore Academy after being expelled from her previous school after an incident with piranhas.

She quickly begins to juggle multiple challenges, like trying to control her newly developing psychic powers, investigating a series of murders in Nevermore, and most importantly, uncovering a mysterious case from 25 years ago that involved her parents.

While it might seem a lot for a young girl, Wednesday Addams herself is a misfit, and she impressively solves each mystery by the end of Season 1. Now, in Wednesday Season 2, Addams is preparing to return to the academy for her sophomore season, where she won't find two of her schoolmates.

Here are the two members who won't make a comeback.

1) Xavier Thorpe (Percy Hynes White)

As mentioned above, White isn't returning for the upcoming season, despite fans eagerly wanting to see Xavier and Wednesday as a couple. While the exact reason for his exit hasn't been addressed by the show's creators, reports suggest that the character has been written off due to sexual assault allegations against Percy Hynes White.

The allegations were made by an unknown woman on X (formerly Twitter) who claimed that White hosted parties for high school students to get intimate with female students.

However, according to Variety, the actor has denied the allegations and stated:

"The rumors are false. I can’t accept the portrayal of me as someone bigoted, or criminally negligent of people’s safety."

White also mentioned the impact of the allegations on his family and stated that he didn't indulge in anything wrong. While this happened in 2023, it's being discussed again due to Percy Hynes White's unexpected departure.

Though not a main character, Yoko is one of the students at the Nevermore Academy, a vampire, and a member of the Nightshade Society. The update on Naomi J. Ogawa's departure from Wednesday Season 2 was shared by the actress herself through her social media. She wrote:

"There’s been news going around that I won’t be returning for season 2 of Wednesday. I can confirm this to be true. Due to the ongoing uncertain scheduling and not much progression in Yoko’s journey, I decided to step away from season two..."

Ogawa cited scheduling conflicts and less development in her character. These challenges led to her ultimate departure, but she'll forever remain a part of the first season.
