Netflix's latest six-part sports docuseries Court Of Gold has garnered quite some attention on social media owing to the lively portrayal of the 2024 Paris Olympics and its basketball players. Court Of Gold is currently streaming on Netflix and helmer Jake Rogal has recently dropped some BTS experience while filming.

Per Tudum, Rogal and his creative team reportedly got "elite access" to famous basketball players' daily routine in the 2024 Olympics and training sessions. The narration in Court Of Gold has displayed a lively rendition of what happens backstage from team meetings to locker room moments. In a recent statement, Jake Rogal reportedly mentioned to Tudum:

"We’d reach out to the players every day and be like, ‘What are you doing today after practice?’ Most of the time it was, ‘I’m sleeping’ or ‘I’m going to focus’ or ‘I want to be with my family at the hotel.’ But any time they were going to an event, we would ask if we could tag along."

His final motto was to portray something very authentic. To quote Sagal's words:

"I’m excited for people to feel those locker rooms."

Court Of Gold not only leaves glimpses of young talents but also focuses on BTS moments with veteran athletes like Kevin Durant or Steph Curry. Per Tudum, Jake Rogal described his filming experience, as unique and how he and his creative unit tried to portray "fresh and compelling" sequences of what happens in a game as huge as the Olympics.

His exact words were:

"You’re seeing something that you think you’ve seen before in a completely different light. It’s fresh and compelling because you’re actually seeing what it’s like to be at the Olympics, and it is so much different than you think it would be."

The shooting of Court Of Gold was an elaborate process where Rogal would "look for opportunities" to have one-on-one conversations with basketball players from teams like the USA, France, Canada, and Serbia. However, narrowing down the top four potential contenders (mentioned above) was also difficult.

Though their calculations could be misled and the elimination of any of the above teams would mean a "wrench in the production", Jake Rogal was more focused on the authenticity of Court Of Gold. A lot of time, per Tudum, was invested in researching teams before the tournament. USA, given their history, was reportedly an easy pick for Rogal.

According to his statements, the US team would always have a story to tell despite the results - good or bad. He further mentioned that France was also a potential contender given their Gold Medal streak in the previous tournament. Rogal's exact words were:

"The US was a no-brainer. France lost the gold medal game in the last Olympics. You knew they had a good team. They added Victor Wembanyama, one of the best players in the world right now, and they were home in Paris. So right away — USA obvious, France obvious."

Many people from the world of athletes reportedly agreed that Canada could be a dark horse in the Paris Olympics, especially owing to their star player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The Serbian team carrying a talent like Nikola Jokić, was chosen over Germany and Greece considering their World Cup performance.

Director Jake Rogal also reportedly mentioned that whenever players would be going to some event or training, he and his team would ask for permission to accompany them. None of the times were they turned down and cameras would roll to take lively shots of these BTS moments from the Olympics which we cannot experience unless we have a VIP pass.

Rogal, speaking from his experience while filming Court Of Gold, further mentioned the sacredness of a locker room where discipline and respect are two important principles to follow. Per Tudum, he also added how challenging it was to run around with cameras on a high-intensity live set - not to mention the weightage of a tournament like the Olympics!
