What to expect from Watson Season 1 Episode 3?
In the first two episodes, the show has established the doctor’s world and has introduced all the important characters. In the next episode, titled Wait for the Punchline, the drama is expected to get more intense as the narrative moves forward and new details about John's past come out.
The doctor will be dealing with the case of a comedian who passes out during an event. However, like all his patients, the comedian hides something, complicating the case.
Meanwhile, John seems to be in trouble as he collapses as well, but does not reveal his symptoms to his fellows. The official logline for the episode reads:
“Watson and the fellows treat a comedian who collapses at an open mic night, but throughout the case her past is revealed to be much more complex than initially believed.”
It continues -
“Meanwhile, the team becomes concerned when Watson himself collapses and suffers another traumatic brain injury as he continues to hide his worsening symptoms.”
What happened in the previous episode of Watson?
In season 1, episode 2, John and his team took on an unusual case involving Andrew Tanner, a man who survived a gunshot wound to the head but started showing strange psychological symptoms.
Andrew, an actor who once played British officer Patrick Ferguson in a theater production, suddenly believed he was Ferguson. He spoke with a British accent, failed to recognize his family, and completely adopted the persona of the historical figure.
Doctors suspected that either the bullet lodged in his brain or an underlying psychological condition caused this behavior. Meanwhile, John and Sasha examined the crime scene and deduced that Andrew might have arranged his own shooting to secure life insurance for his family, believing he had Huntington’s disease.
However, further investigation revealed that he actually had Wilson’s disease, a treatable condition. This discovery changed the course of the case, and Andrew got a second chance at life.
Apart from the case, Ingrid was confronted by Isaac for sabotaging his career. Meanwhile, Moriarty further influenced John’s life as Shinwell was forced into switching his medication. John took the altered pills at the end, unaware of the consequences.
