Joe Walsh made a memorable cameo on The Conners during Season 4, Episode 10, titled Patriarchs and Goddesses. Walsh is an American guitarist known for his unique style and has contributed to some renowned bands. In The Conners, he plays Aldo's father. Aldo and Harris share a relationship, but in a scene in episode 10, Aldo barges into the room with Jesse following him and discloses how Jesse convinced Harris' grandfather that they should not be together. Jesse's character is shown as old and immature. In the scene, Harris' grandfather points out why he agreed to disapprove of their relationship. It is because he doesn't think Harris can manage three kids. Aldo replies quickly that he has only two, only to realise the third kid he is talking about is none other than Jesse.

Walsh's appearance also added a tincture of music into the drama when tension escalated between Dan and Jesse over their children's relationship, and Dan took out a harmonica, Walsh picked up a guitar, and started to jam and let the music do the talking.

After six successful seasons, The Conners premiered on ABC on October 16, 2018, as a continuation of the original sitcom Roseanne. A hoax about Joe Walsh's death circulated on the internet in 2022.
