Netflix released Tyler Perry's Beauty in Black on October 24, 2024. This TV series features a lot of drama, crime, and treachery. Published two halves to the sixteen-episode series; the second half was released on March 6, 2025.
The narrative centers on Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams). She is a stripper and entangled in the perilous world of the Bellaire family, and riches. The fierce plot of the show is shaped by power conflicts, betrayals, and retribution. The show investigates in a high-stakes atmosphere issues of riches, corruption, and survival.
The apparent murder of Charles Bellaire was among the most startling events. Everybody thought he was killed after his car was attacked and set on fire in part 1 of the show. However, part 2 revealed that Charles is indeed alive, and that his uncle Norman Bellaire is the key conspirator behind the attack. Thus unveiling an unexpected turn of events that transformed the Bellaire family and reordered the power relations.
More about Charles in Beauty in Black
Played by Steven G. Norfleet, Charles Bellaire initially showed up in Episode 2. Born as the younger son of Horace Bellaire (Ricco Ross), unlike his merciless father and cunning family, Charles was laid back and delighted in a luxury way of living. He wanted to keep out of family strife, but his privileged background attracted targets.
Charles became enmeshed in a conflict between his father and uncle, Norman Bellaire (Richard Lawson), as the show developed. Charles' cousin Mallory's intended hit-and-run left Ina, Norman's wife, injured. Not knowing the truth, Norman blamed Horace and went for retribution. This caused a more intense strife among the Bellaire family, with Charles unintentionally at the heart.
Charles stepped out of the nightclub, ignorant of the danger that awaited. As he approached his yellow Lamborghini, gunfire rang out, setting it on fire. Everyone assumed Charles was gone, and the Bellaire family was devastated. However, Part 2 changed the story. Charles had been duped into leaving the car and he was drugged just before the attack. A stripper stole his keys and was driving the car on Beauty in Black.
The attack was intended for Charles, but Norman Bellaire missed his target. The narrative thickened, revealing Norman's lethal revenge scheme and how easily the Bellaire family's power disputes may turn violent. Charles made it and hid. He returned in Episode 14 when Varney visited him. Being his boyfriend, this was done to gather items for Charles' funeral.
Additional details about Beauty in Black Ending
Major power changes and betrayals concluded Part 2 of Beauty in Black. The Bellaire family was stunned to learn Charles survived. When Norman's vengeance scheme fell short, his relationship with Horace grew more strained.
On his deathbed, Horace suggested to Kimmie to have her children avoid inheriting his fortune. Kimmie's surprising action infuriated the rest of the family by allowing her authority over the Bellaire business. Still driven for retribution, Norman organized his next strike.
Charles' comeback, meanwhile, threw off the continuous power battle. His survival made Norman a more target since it revealed flaws in his strategy. While family alliances changed, Kimmie's ascent to prominence brought additional opponents.
