One cast member's troubled background has come to light again as Netflix's new reality series W.A.G.s to Riches gets ready for its January 22 release. Lastonia Leviston, the mother of rapper Rick Ross's eldest daughter and well-known for her relationship with him, made headlines in 2015 after she defeated 50 Cent in a $5 million lawsuit.
The rapper allegedly leaked an intimate video of Leviston in 2009 in an attempt to enrage his competitor Rick Ross, which led to the lawsuit. The eight-episode series is expected to explore Leviston's life, including her career advancements, parenting, and the fallout from her well-publicized court dispute.
W.A.G.s to Riches follows several partners of celebrities, offering viewers an intimate look at their lives as they balance personal ambitions with their connections to famous athletes and musicians. Leviston's story stands out as a compelling tale of resilience and legal triumph in the face of public humiliation.
W.A.G.s to Riches’ Lastonia Leviston’s lawsuit against 50 Cent explored
The dispute started when Leviston started dating Rick Ross in 1999. They had a daughter named Toie, but their relationship terminated in 2003. When 50 Cent, who was involved in a sour rivalry with Ross, reportedly got and published a 13-minute intimate video of Leviston in 2009, things took a bad turn.
Reports state that in 2008, Leviston's ex-boyfriend sent the video to 50 Cent. Following the publication of the video, Leviston filed a $15 million damages lawsuit against the rapper. In 2015, following a protracted legal struggle, the court decided in her favor and mandated that 50 Cent pay $5 million. Leviston and her family members were seen sobbing in the courtroom, demonstrating the emotional effect of the judgment.
The victory proved complicated when 50 Cent filed for bankruptcy before paying the settlement. Leviston reportedly collaborated with Sleek Audio, another creditor owed $18 million by the rapper, in an attempt to secure payment. According to recent allegations by Tia Kemp, another mother of Rick Ross's children, Leviston eventually received $1.8 million of the ordered $5 million settlement.
Leviston’s current life and future projects
Today, Leviston has rebuilt her life and established herself as a successful entrepreneur. With an estimated net worth of $3 million, she owns Instatique, a high-end fashion boutique in Miami. She maintains an active social media presence and recently hinted at upcoming projects in a YouTube video.
"I just wanted to say hi to all my loved ones," Leviston said in the video, teasing her followers about "juicy sh*t" on the horizon. Her appearance on W.A.G.s to Riches promises to offer viewers a deeper look into her current life, including her relationship with daughter Toie and their dynamic with Rick Ross.
As the Netflix series premieres, Leviston is still under public scrutiny. Tia Kemp recently accused Leviston of "living off the money she received from her lawsuit" and made other contentious claims about her lifestyle on the Live with the Crew podcast.
The complete first season of W.A.G.s to Riches, featuring all eight episodes, will be available for streaming on Netflix.
