For dedicated fans curious about The Boys after the final season, Amazon Prime has ordered a new prequel series Vought Rising set before The Boys took on their Supes, when Homelander's reign of terror didn't exist.
While The Boys will soon end with the fifth and last season, fans will continue delving into murder mysteries and plotline rollercoasters.
During the San Diego Comic-Con 2024 Panel, a few cast members, and the makers of The Boys made a huge prequel series announcement.
Executive producer Eric Kripke and showrunner and executive producer Paul Grellong introduced Vought Rising as the wildest and most unpredictable series in The Boys universe. They also shared that Vought Rising will be:
"A twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s...and we cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V"
The show will revolve around the scandalous lives of Soldier Boy (played by Jensen Ackles) and Stormfront (played by Aya Cash). The makers' statement signifies that Vought Rising will be everything we haven't imagined in The Boys Universe yet.
Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash are set to reprise their roles as Soldier Boy & Stormfront
The Boys Season 4 just ended and we already know that Jensen Ackles plays Soldier Boy, and Aya Cash is Stormfront. These two Supes are the fundamental figures in The Boys Universe as Ackles' Soldier Boy is the first American non-aging Supe created by Frederick Vought during World War II.
Stormfront who was then introduced as Clara Vought, is also Frederick Vought's first successful superhero created through Compound V. Clara tied the knot with Vought before the two moved to the United States.
Despite making Soldier Boy a war hero, Frederick Vought didn't let him fight much over the risk of losing his propaganda figure. However, Stromfornt and Soldier Boy crossed paths in the 1950s and initiated the infamous Herogasm.
In Vought Rising, viewers will explore a darker superhero culture, where Soldier Boy and Stormfront contribute equally.
Since it was before The Boys and Vought International's establishment, their back story will be featured in Vought Rising.
In The Boys Season 4, fans saw Homelander trying to reach the tube where his biological father Soldier Boy is contained, hinting that Jensen Ackles' character will also play a vital role in The Boys' fifth and last season.
What's in store for The Boys Franchise
The Boys Universe is all set to expand with Vought Rising, as fans are also excited about Gen V season 2. During the San Diego Comic-Con Panel, the first trailer of Gen V season 2 was revealed. As expected, the upcoming chapter will bring more drama and brutality to the world surrounded by chaos.
Humans will be commanded to wear 'H' so the world knows the difference between Supes and humans in the conflicted environment as seen in the trailer.
As for The Boys Season 4 which recently ended, Butcher executes Victoria Neuman, followed by Homelander taking on the leadership perfectly setting the stage for the upcoming events of Gen V Season 2.
The Boys' finale will feature the cruelest face-off between Billy Butcher and Homelander with other members of The Seven, which will make it a notable moment in the history of The Boys.
