Virdee plot details and release date

Virdee follows the story of Harry Virdee, portrayed by Staz Nair, who has also appeared in shows like Game of Thrones and Super Girl, as he tries to catch a serial killer, who is targeting the Asian community of Bradford, West Yorkshire. Amidst all this, he is also dealing with personal challenges such as trying to connect with his family who have abandoned him for marrying a Muslim girl named Saima ( Aysha Kala), for the sake of his son, Aaron.

While talking to BBC, Staz Nair, expressed his excitement about being a part of this show and said:

This show leads with vulnerability more than any detective drama I’ve ever seen, and it’s a privilege to be bringing AA Dhand’s hope for his city to life."

Creator and executive producer of the show A A Dhand, who also wrote the novel, praised the talented cast and Staz Nair’s performance saying:

"A truly diverse cast, with an abundance of talent but most importantly, real passion for this show. Staz Nair brings Harry Virdee authentically to life not only with a real physical presence but also an emotional depth that instantly resonated with us all."

All six episodes of Virdee are available on the streaming service BBC iPlayer from February 10, 2025. It also premiered its first episode on BBC One at 9 PM on February 10, 2025, and will air a new episode every Monday.
