Shark Tank Season 16: Investors praise Georgia-native Smith Alan Baggett's FlaminGO pitch
Recently released Shark Tank's Episode 11 featured Smith Alan Baggett presenting his pre-charged phone charger, FlaminGO. Fans witnessed what Kevin O'Leary called "one of the most entertaining presentations" in his 16 years as a Shark.
With a jolly nature and Georgian accent, all the Sharks present, including Kevin O'Leary, Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Robert Herjavec, and Lori Greiner, enjoyed the pitch.
FlaminGO's Smith Alan Baggett, in his unique way, started the pitch:
"Howdy howdy, Sharks! My name is Smith Alan Baggett, and I make my home on my cattle ranch in southeast Georgia. Now, I know when you see a cowboy up here with a product called FlaminGO, you can't help but wonder: "Well, what's it do, buckaroo?" Well, let me tell you when you'll need it!"
He then asked them to imagine how someone is about to get on an important business call, but their phone's battery is about to die.
"That's where this cowboy and FlaminGO save the day! Introducing FlaminGO, a pre-charged phone charger, right out of the wrapper! So, whether you need to call a taxi or swipe right on Mr. Wonderful, you'll always be in charge with FlaminGO free-charge charger! Now, Sharks, I think it's safe to say that this product here is going to be hotter than South Georgia asphalt in the middle of July."
Further, he stated that his ask was $100,000 for 20%, and following that, he playfully mentioned that with such a deal, he might even get to practice his "auctioneering." He then mimicked a bidding war and acted as the auctioneer, which all the Sharks enjoyed.
After Shark Tank investor Barbara offered him a deal for his ask at 25% of his company, he requested for her for 22%. The deal was done!
