"Unusual scenario": The Challenge 40 winner Jenny opens up about witnessing fellow participants getting into arguments

The Challenge 40 winner, Jenny West, appeared on the January 10, 2025, episode of the Death, Taxes, and Bananas podcast hosted by Johnny Bananas. Along with her, the reality show crowned two more winners - Rachel Robinson and Jordan Wiseley.

During her recent appearance on the Johnny Bananas podcast, Jenny opened up about witnessing how some of her fellow competitors kept on getting into arguments.

"When I was younger, I didn't like confrontation, probably because I grew up in a household where I never saw any arguments whatsoever like, my siblings, I, never argued, my mom and dad never argued and it was always like you just talk about it."

She added:

"So, that was like unusual scenario for me and I came in season 34 and on my first night, security like, jumping in and people like trying to rip each other's heads off and I'm like, "Oh my God." This is like, so like, crazy to say, so it's not in my natural instinct to be like that."

The Challenge 40: Jenny West opens up about confrontations and arguments during the competition

One of The Challenge 40 winners, Jenny West, attended the January 10, 2025, episode of the Johnny Bananas podcast. She revealed various incidents, from her first appearance on the show to how she felt about fellow competitors arguing around her.

Talking about that, the host, Johnny Bananas, said:

"What's great though is for somebody who, like you said, is an empath and you feel it, you also, I think you do have, like, a killer instinct in you as well, you're not going to be like, emotionally manipulated by - - "

Listening to that, Jenny jumped into the conversation and replied:

"No, no. I..I...and what I tend to do as well is, if someone is if I identify, I think someone's trying to emotionally manipulate me, um, I play them at their own game. So I would let them think that they...it's working and I would like...I can put that on at that moment in time to lure them into a full sense of security thinking they've got it in the bag, and then like they might try and be like tell me something or whatever or try and do something, and I'd be like, 'No, no.'"

Johnny Bananas replied to Jenny about how she had been "accused" in the past for "not speaking her mind." He referred to that as "not ruffling enough feathers." He asked The Challenge 40 winner if that was "by design" or "just naturally."

Jenny mentioned how, since her childhood, she didn't like confrontations. Referring to how people "shouted" and "throw drinks around," she said that it shows how their "brain cells are limited somewhat." She talked about "eloquently" explaining the feelings.

Later on during the discussion, Jenny also revealed how, during the recent season of The Challenge 40, she also "probably definitely" shouted on the show.
