Untold: The Murder of Air McNair uncovers the tragic and mysterious death of former NFL player Steve McNair. His death rocked Tennessee in the year 2009 when he was found shot dead along with an unknown woman - later known as Sahel Kazemi.

Steve McNair's death was ruled as a homicide, with Kazemi being the prime suspect. Kazemi reportedly shot McNair four times before eventually killing herself after his death. As per the officials, the motive behind his death continues to remain a mystery.

There's much about the cold murder from 2009 that was revealed by Netflix's Untold series. Interviews with Wayne Neele, Robert Gaddy, Jeff Fisher, Emily Andrews, and others, as well as gripping unknown details about the former Titans player, were explored in the documentary.

1) Wayne Neely offered cash to the officers after giving his statement

Wayne Neely was the first one to discover the bodies of McNair and his alleged girlfriend, Kazemi. Untold: The Murder of Air McNair featured a never-before-seen glimpse of Neely issuing his account of events to the police. Neely appeared to be disturbed while describing the bloody crime scene.

Shortly after he'd given his statement, Neely was under the impression the officers had to be paid after a conversation. Neely reached for a wat of cash and began counting notes. After taking a look at the officer's identification, he claimed that the officer was worth at least $20. Despite the offer, naturally, the officer declined.


2) The gun that killed Steve McNair belonged to Adrian Gilliam

Untold: The Murder of Air McNair revealed another shocking part of McNair's murder. The gun, which was thought to have been purchased by Kazemi, legally belonged to a convicted felon named Adrian Gilliam.

As per the documentary, investigators found that the primary murder weapon was allegedly sold to Kazemi by Gilliam. There were several text messages and calls recorded between the two up until the time of McNair and Kazemi's death.

Furthermore, cops uncovered that Gilliam was even around the area on the day of the murder, leading to more speculation. However, except for being the owner of the gun, Gilliam had no connection with the murder-suicide.


3) Steve McNair and his bodyguard/best friend had a misunderstanding before his death

Robert Gaddy was one of the many peers close to McNair who was featured in the Untold: The Murder of Air McNair documentary. Gaddy revealed that he was, in a way, McNair's ride-or-die and wanted to build his friend's business empire. Gaddy emphasized the rarity of being away from him, whether at a soiree or a game.

Despite their thick friendship, Gaddy revealed he had a misunderstanding with McNair over a canceled check of $13,000 signed by both of them. Gaddy expresses regret over not reconciling with his buddy before his death. He was seen getting emotional during several stills of the documentary.


4) Kazemi's ex-boyfriend was jealous of her relationship with Steve McNair - his favorite Titans player

Keith Norfleet was Kazemi's former boyfriend with whom she moved to Nashville. It wasn't long after that she reportedly broke up and went on to allegedly date McNair. During his interview with police officials in Untold: The Murder of Air McNair, Norfleet hinted at his jealousy, saying,

"My ex-girlfriend, who I'm still in love with was now going to be with my favorite football player of all time!"

Furthermore, months after his split from Kazemi, Norfleet's MySpace account also emphasized his jealousy. It claimed that no one should let another come between the person you love. He later refutes the statement by expressing regret over the statement online.


5) What Jeff Fisher - Steve McNair's former coach, really said to him after the big loss in 2000

Apart from highlighting McNair's devastating death, the series mentioned fragments of his career. One of those included his team - the Titans' loss against the Rams with a major upset of 23-16. Although it was a heartbreaking loss for the team, McNair appeared to have a sense of optimism.

However, the scene changes to a moment when Jeff Fisher (McNair's former coach) kneels and whispers something in McNair's ear. Initially, when journalists enquired about it, he said,

"I believe that's between a player and his coach."

Likewise, when the Netflix interviewer asked him about his response, Fisher claimed he merely consoled McNair and told him that he loved him.


6) Steve McNair had a relationship with multiple women

Perhaps one of the most shocking revelations about the Untold: The Murder of Steve McNair documentary was about the affairs he had with Kazemi and others. While going through McNair's phone to look for an inkling between him and her, the police found several text messages from him to other women.

This prompted the authorities to believe that he was having a relationship with multiple women. Furthermore, in an interview with one of Kazemi's colleagues from work, she revealed that McNair wanted to adopt children and eventually build a life together with Kazemi.


The murder of the former quarterback of the Titans, Steve McNair, is truly a horrendous ordeal. Jeff Fischer eloquently mentions - there's a lot that doesn't add up about his murder.

In a way, it is true, yet per the facts and evidence received, he was indeed killed by Kazemi, who then killed herself. Sadly, We'll never know the truth behind the driving force behind Kazemi's drastic measure that led to a bloody crime scene and many questions.
