Netflix's newly released suspense drama The Perfect Couple is becoming incredibly popular among viewers as the whodunnit format is keeping them on their toes.
In the sixth episode titled That Feels Better, Greer and Tag Winbury's beloved daughter-in-law Abby is exposed to be the killer. While her pregnancy didn't play a big role in Elin Hilderbrand's acclaimed novel, it impressively crafted the whole murder plot in the Netflix series.
As seen in The Perfect Couple, Abby is pregnant with her first child, and the couple is extremely excited. While the joy is undeniably for their child, their excitement is rooted in the money Thomas (Jack Reynor) was going to receive from his father's trust fund.
Thomas Winbury is in great debt, and his losses can only be recovered through the inheritance of Tag's trust fund which is soon coming into effect as the youngest Winbury is about to turn 18 in a few weeks.
However, Tag's affair with Merritt leaves her pregnant with his fifth child, which means that Abby and Thomas would only get the money after the fifth Winbury turns 18, signifying that the future of Abby's child is uncertain.
So, to make things easy for her and Thomas, Abby drugged Merritt's drink and cleverly drowned her in the water, making it seem like an accidental death.
Dakota Fanning's views on motherhood
Fanning has yet to experience motherhood, and while speaking to Net-A-Porter, the actress shared her thoughts on having kids:
"Having kids is probably more important to me than anything, even being an actor. If somebody said I had to choose, I would choose having kids."
The Twilight star also mentioned that she has always longed to become a parent, and would prioritize having a kid over her triumphant acting career.
