Taylor Sheridan's Tulsa King debuted on Paramount+ in November 2022. The series received great critical acclaim and high ratings, reviving it for another season ending in September 2024.
The show stars Sylvester Stallone as Dwight Manfredi, who belongs to an American crime family and has gotten out of jail after 25 years. The show follows his story of rebuilding his life in Tulsa with a new group of people.
While Stallone confirmed Tulsa King Season 3 in December 2024, Paramount+ has yet to renew it officially for an upcoming season. One of its stars recently gave an exciting update about the new chapter.
Here is everything we know about Tulsa King Season 3.
Tulsa King Season 3 to begin production soon
In a recent interview with Collider, actor Martin Starr (Bodhi) gives a major update about Season 3 while promoting his film Out For Delivery at SXSW:
"I mean, I've only just read the first two scripts. We start production next week."
He added:
"I can't tell you anything that I've read in those episodes, but I am excited. This new season is going to be a lot of fun. It looks already like there’s going to be a lot of action, and there are some loose ends that may or may not get tied up."
Looking at the Season 2 schedule and the latest update for the new chapter, fans can expect Season 3 to release in late 2025.
Earlier, Stallone also teased a new season through an Instagram post months after the Season 2 finale. Dwight's chemistry with Bodhi is an important aspect of the show, and when asked about his experience of working with the star, Starr said:
''...But he also, lucky for me, enjoys improvising. So, especially when it’s the two of us, we get to play around a little bit...he does like to play with the dialogue, which I appreciate, and he likes comedy. We get to find new things in there and have fun. I appreciate it."
Starr's comments tease an action-packed season yet, with enough room for the next chapter to roll out.
What happened in the Tulsa King Season 2 finale?
In the Tulsa King Season 2 finale, Dwight's rivalry with Cal finally comes to a head, but he does not kill him, even after he sabotaged his trial. Instead, he takes control of his weed farm. Dwight sparing Cal's life means that he might be going on a cleaner path because Cal's murder would have raised the FBI's eyes toward him.
Another shocking plot point in the Tulsa King Season 2 finale, which shocked audiences, was Chickie's sudden death at the hands of Bill. After Chickie asks Bill to kill Dwight because he does not want to join his crime family anymore, Bill instead kills Chickie. He later cuts a deal with Dwight and asks for a 50% share of Cal's weed farm.
The finale finally ends on a high note for Dwight, who gets kidnapped by a mysterious group that seems related to the US Government. They interrogate him and reveal that he works for them now, indicating that he might get involved in some governmental shady business in the next season.
