Tracker fans have been longing for the comeback of one of their favorite characters, Bobby Exley, whose portrayal is done by Eric Graise. His disappearance in some episodes of Tracker Season 2 fueled rumors about his destiny and whether he would ever come back to the program.

Fortunately, it was announced by Collider that Bobby would return, and his comeback is promised to have dramatic storylines and character interactions on the show. Recent news is that Bobby had been absent because of personal circumstances, such as attending a friend's funeral, which promises more to the underlying storyline of his character when he comes back.

Bobby's absence and speculation

Bobby Exley's unexplained absence in several episodes during Tracker Season 2 of Tracker caused universal speculation among Tracker fans. As a primary technology expert for Colter Shaw, played by Justin Hartley, his disappearance became newsworthy, particularly given that his temporary replacement was his cousin Randy, played by Chris Lee.

At first, there was worry that Bobby had exited the show for good, just like Robin Weigert's character Teddi Bruin did before Season 2. But it was clarified that Bobby was taking care of personal matters at home and eventually attending a friend's funeral, all the while paving the way for a significant comeback.

In Tracker Season 2, Episode 10 ("Nightingale"), Randy gives the reason for Bobby's absence as that he was working on "family issues" and had left Randy behind to help Colter with crucial information.

Verifying Bobby's return in Tracker Season 2

Tracker actress Fiona Rene, who portrayed Reenie Greene, verified during an interview with TV Insider that Eric Graise would be reprising his role as Bobby, putting fans at ease regarding his exit.

She said,

“I mean, can we just talk about Randy for a second? I love Chris Lee with everything in my body...He’s been such a wonderful addition to the Bobby dynamic, and I am very excited to see them together.”

The mid-season trailer also teased Bobby's return, as he was seen working alongside Colter on a different interesting case and giving him the necessary information.

Since the footage wasn't included in Episodes 9, 10, or 11, this may indicate that he will be returning in the next episodes. Even though Bobby failed to appear in Episode 13, fans should not worry because he could still make a comeback before Tracker Season 2 runs its course, as seen in the mid-season trailer.

Effect of Bobby's return on the series

Tracker's return of Bobby is sure to make waves in the series. His disappearance was integrated into the plot, enriching his character and providing foreshadowing of possible plot twists.

The fact that the show chooses to touch on his absence instead of sweeping it under the rug means that his return will not be simply a matter of casual return but might change the fundamental dynamics of the team and provide emotional richness to the plot.

As few episodes remain for Season 2, viewers look forward to knowing what happens next in Bobby's storyline, particularly the relationship he shares with cousin Randy, a welcome addition to the series. Bobby's part as a hacking expert is invaluable to Colter's investigations, and his comeback will probably usher in the tech know-how that has been sorely lacking over the past several episodes.

Bobby Exley is back on Tracker Season 2 after a highly anticipated absence. His absence was because of personal issues, such as going to a friend's funeral, which indicates there is more to the storyline. Fiona Rene assured Bobby's comeback, and the mid-season trailer also teases his return.
