Tracker season 2 returned after its winter hiatus on February 16, 2025, with an action-packed episode. The CBS series revolves around Colter Shaw, played by Justin Hartley, a survivalist who finds missing persons for a reward.

In the new episode, titled The Disciple, Colter finally closes the case of Gina Picket’s disappearance, which has haunted him for years. The case had already been mentioned in earlier episodes of the season and finally comes to the forefront in episode 9.

Gina left work one night but never reached her home. As Colter investigates the matter, it comes out that Gina was kidnapped and murdered by a man known as the Teacher, who often targets young girls. Here is the complete Tracker season 2 episode 9 recap.

What happened to Gina Picket in Tracker Season 2?

Gina Pickett was a young woman in her twenties who disappeared one night after leaving work. She had no reason to run away, which made her family worried. After the police failed to figure out where Gina was, Colter Shaw became interested in the case and spent years trying to solve it.

His main suspect was Frank Whales, a man who had a crush on Gina and behaved in a weird way. But no matter how many times he was questioned, Frank never admitted to anything. In Tracker season 2 episode 9, Colter teams up with a retired detective named Keaton.

They find out that Gina was targeted by a man called the Teacher. Frank and his friends, who were influenced by The Teacher, lured Gina by pretending they knew people from her favorite band. Gina got into Frank’s car to meet the band, unaware that she was getting into danger.

Colter eventually finds an old barn with a video of Gina tied up. In the video, the Teacher questions her, asking for information about her sister, Camille. Gina refuses to answer and tries to protect Camille. While the clip does not show what happens next, it becomes clear that Gina was murdered.

Tracker Season 2 Episode 9 recap: Why was Gina killed?

The Teacher is actually Noah Darview, an evil man who tricks young men into working for him and luring young women into his trap. He pretends to be a mentor to troubled boys and makes them feel important. The boys then kidnap his victims for him. Frank is one of these recruits who helps kidnap Gina.

In the episode, Noah also reveals the reason behind his actions. He says he suffered a great loss when he was young and wants others to feel the same pain. He likes to mess with people’s minds, forcing them to talk about their loved ones before killing them.

When Gina does not tell him anything about her sister, Noah decides to kill her. For years, no one has been able to find Gina’s body because Noah is very careful about hiding evidence. He uses different places and different people to make sure the police never suspect him.

Tracker Season 2 Episode 9 recap: How does Colter track Noah?

As Colter and Keaton question Frank Whales again, he admits to being involved in the crime. He gives them Gina’s hairpin, proving she was with him the night she disappeared. Frank also reveals the identity of the Teacher.

He leads Colter to an abandoned asylum, where Noah has been keeping another kidnapped woman named Hannah Olson. When Colter tries to rescue Hannah, Noah uses gas to knock him out. Colter then has to fight one of Noah’s new recruits, Brandon.

In a surprising moment, Frank shoots Brandon to save Colter and tries to redeem himself. The final showdown happens inside the asylum when Frank tries to stand up to Noah, but Noah stabs him and kills him. In the meantime, Frank is able to injure Noah.

While the criminal tries to run away, he cannot go far due to his injury, and Colter manages to stop him and get him arrested. Once in police custody, Noah finally confesses to all his crimes, including Gina’s murder. He also tells them where to find the bodies of his other victims.
