In Season 2, Episode 4 of Tracker, Colter Shaw (played by Justin Hartley) and Reenie Green (played by Fiona Rene) finally spend time together.
The two team up to solve the mystery of a missing woman in an episode filled with unexpected twists, creepy secrets, and a dark, twisted reveal. This episode, titled Noble Rot, unfolds at a vineyard retreat where the drama and mystery mix to create a truly unforgettable storyline.
In this episode, Colter figures out the sinister secrets in the vineyard and comes very close to finding Quinn.
A woman on the run
The episode starts with a tense scene: a woman, later identified as Quinn Ridgely (Jessica Sutton), is frantically running through a vineyard at night, clearly trying to escape. But who is she running from? The scene is intense and leaves viewers wondering what led to this chase.
The next morning, Colter arrives in Napa Valley to track down Quinn, a software company co-owner who disappeared from a corporate retreat at a vineyard. Her wife and business partner, Gray (Sofia Hirt), is desperate to find her and even offers a $50,000 reward to speed things up. Luckily for Colter, his trusted lawyer is already at the retreat, so he takes on the case.
When Colter starts investigating, Gray and the security team at the vineyard think Quinn might have been kidnapped. But Reenie, Colter's partner, isn’t convinced. There’s no ransom note, which is unusual for a typical kidnapping. After a little digging, Colter agrees that something else might be going on.
As Colter searches Quinn’s villa, he notices some peculiar signs, like blankets on the couch suggesting that the couple slept apart the night before. Gray admits they had a fight about their company, which adds to Colter’s suspicion. It looks like Quinn’s disappearance might not be a simple case of kidnapping.
Did Colter solve the corporate kidnapping?
During their investigation, Colter and Reenie meet William Locke, the vineyard’s owner, and Peter Reynolds, the head of security. Both seem secretive, raising even more red flags. Something definitely feels off about the vineyard, making Colter think they might be hiding more than they’re letting on.
Colter sneaks a look at the CCTV footage, only to find that some crucial scenes have been erased. The footage shows Quinn talking to someone right before she disappeared. Colter suspects the vineyard’s owner, William, knows more than he’s letting on. Eventually, William admits Quinn came to him to try a psychedelic substance, hoping it would help her cope with her fight with Gray.
Colter follows Quinn’s tracks from the opening scene to a construction area where he finds her glasses and something even more shocking, a severed human foot. This gruesome discovery points to foul play. Quinn’s disappearance is starting to look less like an escape and more like a terrifying encounter with a killer.
Colter’s investigation leads him to a woman named Rona (Gloria Garayua), who works at the vineyard. He finds her behavior suspicious and has his friend Bobby track her phone.
This trail eventually leads him to a hidden area on the vineyard property where multiple bodies are stored in barrels. The bodies are revealed to be migrant workers who died on the job, and it seems like someone was hiding their deaths to avoid trouble.
The real villain behind the mystery turned out to be Jesse Pardue, a contractor at the vineyard. He and Rona had been covering up the deaths of migrant workers who died in accidents over the years. Quinn stumbled upon their operation after taking hallucinogenic drugs and accidentally witnessed them hiding the bodies, which put her life in danger.
Meanwhile, we find that Quinn is being held hostage by Jesse. She tries to buy her way out by offering him money, but Jesse, realizing Colter is on his trail, decides it’s safer to get rid of her once and for all. He plans to kill her and dispose of her body using a woodchipper.
In the final moments, Reenie introduces Colter to her new love interest, Elliott Rush. There’s some light-hearted banter between them as Colter realizes he might have feelings for Reenie, even if he’s not ready to admit it. He lets her know that Elliott is lucky to have her, and she walks away, leaving Colter with a bittersweet smile.
This episode of Tracker took a dark turn, revealing a grisly cover-up at a seemingly peaceful vineyard. Colter’s sharp instincts helped him uncover the truth behind Quinn’s disappearance and uncover the vineyard’s hidden secrets.
The episode ended on a somewhat bittersweet note for Colter and Reenie’s friendship, suggesting potential feelings beneath the surface. Tracker continues to deliver suspense and unexpected twists, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.
