What happened in Tracker Season 2 Episode 12?

Tracker Season 2's previous episode saw Colter hired to find a single mother, Alice, who is also an opioid addict, as told by her mother. Checking in on the first suspect, Colter clears Alice's ex-husband, who had a strong alibi.

By tracking Alice's phone, Colter can track down her abandoned car, along with her phone and other belongings. He asks Randy to find information on her, and they eventually link her to Sal Markowitz, a psychiatrist. They found his decapitated body in the bathroom.

Colter discovers a case file among his patient files and learns that Alice was also training to be a psychiatrist under Sal's supervision. He finds out about a patient's file, PJ, who had a weird s*xual fantasy about a convenience store clerk.

After checking the store's video footage, he identifies a man named Paul James Hamilton, one of Alice's patients. He killed his stepfather when he was still underage because he was an abuser. Colter finds Paul's mother's dead body and Sal's head at the former's house.

In Tracker Season 2 Episode 12, Colter finally discovers that Paul has held Alice at an amusement park to have a therapy session with her and unpack his childhood trauma. He arrives just in time, shoots Paul in the back, and saves Alice.
