Tracker Season 2 Episode 12 recap: Colter looks for a missing mother

CBS Tracker Season 2 Episode 12 saw Colter Shaw track down a missing single mother who suddenly disappeared one night.

While working with Randy and Reenie, Colter links Alice to a psychiatrist and eventually finds that she has been kidnapped by a deranged ex-patient who had abandonment issues and was threatening Alice not to drop her as a patient.

The episode also offered a small glimpse into Colter's past life, where he shared a sweet childhood memory of his mother and siblings with Reenie.

Colter is hired for a missing mother's case in Tracker Season 2 Episode 12

The case of the week for Colter in Tracker Season 2 Episode 12 was of Alice, a single mother who lived with his son Miles. Her mother, Judith, was also living with the family in an outer guest house.

One night, after Miles was asleep, Alice disappeared without a word in her car. While there were signs that Alice left on her own. Judith was confident that somebody had abducted her daughter because she would never willingly leave Miles.

She reveals her daughter's opioid addiction and how she was in a custody battle with her ex-husband. She left him after she developed a relationship with somebody else.

After eliminating Alice's husband because of a strong alibi, Colter makes a breakthrough and finds her abandoned car and phone. Randy finds out about Alice's conversation with a married man, Sal, which implies that she might be having an affair with him.

Colter discovers Alice's relationship with Sal in Tracker Season 2 Episode 12

To further gain intel on Sal, he reaches his home, only to find his decapitated body in the bathroom, with his head missing. Colter discovers that Sal is a psychiatrist, and Alice was also enrolled under him to become one before she eventually dropped it midway.

He found one particular case file of PJ, one of Alice's patients, which she transferred to Sal. He learns that PJ has Cognitive distortions and was currently stalking a convenience store clerk.

He immediately goes down to the store and identifies a mysterious man who was about to kill the store clerk but backed away because of a police car. The man is identified as Paul James Hamilton.

Colter shoots Paul in Tracker Season 2 Episode 12

After identifying the man, Colter goes to his home, only to find his mother's dead body along with Sal's head. He does a background check on Paul and discovers he worked at an amusement park, which was his happy place, and assumes that he might have taken Alice there.

At the amusement park, Paul abducted Alice and blamed her for dropping PJ. She says that she is leaving the profession altogether because it is taking a toll on her mental health. She advises him to get proper mental health treatment and find a new therapist.

Paul reveals how he killed his stepfather and how his mother never visited him in jail. He kept Sal's head by his side so she could finally have a man of her own. He begs Alice to continue being his therapist because he sees her as his mother.

Colter finally arrives on the scene, and before he can hurt Alice with a knife, he shoots him from behind. Alice is reunited with her son, Miles.
