One of the well-received CBS procedurals of this year, Tracker is coming back for the sophomore season. It's earlier than expected, thanks to Justin Hartley who intrigued fans and viewers with his role as Colter Shaw, the self-reliant tracker.

The first season came out in February 2024, and quickly gained popularity over its sober yet interesting narrative. Adapted from Jeffery Deaver's The Never Game, the TV series centers around a highly skilled tracker Colter Shaw, who makes money by helping others find lost possessions and even people.

Do not get confused with Shaw as a personal detective, as his work involves following physical trails and signs, instead of using investigative methods and exposing crimes. However, Colter Shaw occasionally collaborates with law enforcement and civilians to find missing individuals.

As seen in Tracker Season 1, Shaw's narrative is more than just working as a tracker. The TV series extensively featured Shaw's troubled relationship with his family members, especially with his mother Mary Dove Shaw (Wendy Crewson), and sister Dory, played by actress Melissa Roxburgh.

In one of the episodes of the CBS drama, Colter had to confront his family trauma, reflecting on the scars his own family gave him. His family's behavior leads Colter Shaw to choose a nomadic lifestyle and help others find their precious belongings.

The first season ended with a cliffhanger about Shaw's father, and thankfully it will be answered in the upcoming season. Read more to find out everything we know about the second season.

Tracker Season 2 will explore Colter Shaw's backstory and unveil some hidden dark truths about his family. The series will delve deep into his relationship with his brother Russell, who's working for a private military contractor.
